The bus ride will bring you through the heartland of Singapore where you see the landscape change from city to surburbs. Changi Village is near the Straits of Johor and host one of the beaches of Singapore where you can spend your time with swimming, camping, sun tanning, playing in the sand, etc. Mostly quiet but during weekends and school holiday seasons ( June and December ) it can be crowded. While laying down on the sand, you can spot low flying airplanes on approach for Changi International Airport, which is just around the corner. On sea you can see huge ships and tankers passing the beach to one of the ports in Straits of Johor. It is one of the oldest coastal parks in Singapore, this place brings back memories for Singaporeans who frequented this area in the 60s and 70s. The park is 3.2km long with stretches of sandy beaches between Changi Point and Changi Ferry Road. If you like to camp, then is Changi Beach is marvelous place. Singaporeans like to camp with tents on the beach during weekends and school holidays. And to make your camping complete, you can also book one of the barbeque pits around the beach. See the website of Singapore's National Parks Board for more information about the pits. At the western end of Changi beach ends the Changi River into the sea. You will spot here many small boats travelling to Pulua Ubin and Malaysia or fishing boats. Address: Nicoll DriveDirections: Bus no. 2 from Tanah Merah MRT station or if you buy car, take the PIE to the Airport and follow the signs to Changi Village. The beach can be found behind the little ferry terminal in Changi Village.Website: http://www.nparks.gov.sg
