There is a huge and popular shopping centre called Plaza Singapura situation just next to the main gate of the Istana along Orchard Road. You can do your shopping here before or after going to the Istana. Besides department stores, shops etc, there is also an air-conditioned food court and many restaurants at Plaza Singapura.
