Eski Bar

by Flipboy

Its a cold bar. Boasting sub-zero weather inside, it is super cooled to create winter in sunny Singapore. They say that if you bring your own jacket you get 10% off your bill, but the waitress had to be reminded because she said that not many people bring their own shtuff. The space is quite small, but I guess that is necessary to keep the temp down.

Sake Bar: Don't miss this Sake Bar

by Irene_Ng

Best sake selection! Feel like at home, friendly servers. Always ask if there are any special snacks that not listed on menu - exceptionly good snack e.g. Japanese Pork. Casual - just don't show naked.

The Sanctuary: Live and loud: Cat's Cradle

by idy

Cat's Cradle play at Indochine's The Santuary daily sometime from 9pm onwards up 'til midnight. They do some great covers of popular soft rock and adult alternative songs, and the lead singer sometimes sound uncannily like Jon Bon Jovi. The night-time crowd here varies, being made up of foriegners/tourists and locals (mostly fans of the band). Sometimes they are loud, cheering and whistling at the band, and sometimes totally unresponsive, no one even claps. This alfresco area is a nice place to relax after a hard day of bargain hunting. Unfortunately, the drinks are rather pricey, with coffee or tea going at about $5, a bottle of Evian at $10 and mocktails or cocktails at about $15 upwards. The Sanctuary is located next to PhoChine and is part of the Indochine group of 5 outlets in the same location.

Music Underground: Largest Eurodance club

by Louis_sg

If eurodance/techno is your cup of tea, this could be your best bet in Singapore. Rest of the clubs that dish out the same fare are dismally small (they can be found along Md Sultan Road) and packed with teenagers to the brim. Located along the belt of the Orchard Road district, it is easily accessible with a train station (Somerset) next to it with various Night bus services (avail on weekends and eve of PH only) that bring you throughout the island at its doorstep. For the list of covers and closing times, refer to the website below. Generally it closes latest on Saturdays (4am) with crowd capacity to the max on that day. Bar top dancing is a common sight and crowd has a good mix of young adults (20+) to the working exec types. A few handfuls of teenagers help to balance out the mix too.Do give it a try! As of writing, this new premises is only 2 months old (it was shifted from...

Liquid Room: Melted

by Aphro

Cool dance/house club, very sweaty and popular.Very trendy, mostly locals with a very few expats.Guest DJs regularly.Recommended if you want to dance ;) Downstairs semi-outdoor chill area also has a DJ, plays downtempo and jazz. Sometimes has live percussionist or sax player. Totally mellow, with stand fans and plants and nice chairs. The fishtanks are quite...liquid. Trendy and young, not necessarily dressed up but look like you made the effort.

Night Safari: Take a jungle hike in a concrete jungle

by bpacker

IMHO, this is the best night spot in town. Forget about the clubbing areas in the quay region with the over-priced pubs and restaurants and the touting waiters. Chill out with the animals in the zoo and go for the night show. You might be one of "lucky" guest who finds a 10m long python under your seat. Been to a sauna? Yes, the night safari is just like that. The dense canopy of trees in the safari will raise the humidity and temperature levels. Do wear cotten tops / shorts and don't forget the insect repellent. Are you an owl? Love venturing out at night? Click on b'packer's page, for more night haunts.
