Clarke Quay is named after Sir Andrew Clarke, Singapore's second governor. This is just like Boat Quay with the same type of alfresco dining, many restaurants, café, pubs and bars. There is a flea market which is held every Sunday.
This was once a cargo loading bay but now it is a place for alfresco dining. It is very popular place for local, expatriates and tourists to hangout.There are many cafes, restaurants pubs and galleries. The many restaurants does tend to confuse you as to which or what type of food you want to eat or which pub choose. You can also just go bar hopping like we did.
The Duxton Hill area located along Tanjong Pagar Road (near to Chinatown) is famous for its beautiful traditional buildings as well as the nightlife. There are many pubs, nightclubs and restaurants at this area, which is very lively and crowded at night. This is one place which you can consider for night time entertainment. If you like Korean food, there are several good Korean restaurants here which are frequently visited by Korean tourists.

Not very exciting in my opinion, but Singapore is famous for its chic venues with a very international and cosmopolitan atmosphere. The pedestrian area of Boat Quay is particularly lively with locals and expatriates. Ask there for directions regarding the hippest places of the moment.
This is an open-air bar tucked away in a small corner away from the hustle and bustle of the city and it's a fantastic place to chill out with friends on a breezy night. And it is also a place where local Singaporean bands are engaged to perform - Highly recommended to check out Timbre on Wednesday nights! The band playing on Wednesday nights is called E.I.C and they are really good!! Casual
I went to Chinablack for a special Halloween night organised by the National University of Singapore. What made this night different to all the other club nights was that the place was decked out in spider webs, pumpkins, candles, creating an awesome Halloween atmosphere. Living in Australia, Halloween is not really done up that much so it was nice to experience a real Halloween night. NUS also did tattoos and hairstyling for free for everyone so people looked a bit crazy too. Myself included!!! I don't know why I let the hair stylist do my hair like he did. No special dress code...of course Halloween costumes were popular.
