CHIJMES bars: CHIJMES for Filipinos

by francis0927

There is one bar in Chijmes that has a live band (when I went there) from the Philippines (Filipino bands/musicians are said to be one of the best around Asia). A lot of caucasians and Filipinos hang out here to drink and dance to live music. Just look decent.

BRIX: Jazz Funk, R & B, Soul and disco tunes

by Travel2write

Upper class kind of play to hang. Interesting mix of buisness class, Expats and local working girls makes this a strange place to mix. Drinks are on the highside, but by far the best menu selection of drinks in the town. Bartenders are hospitable and completed with a great band is what makes it somewhat appealing. Nice place to have a night out with wife or girlfriend, or for the big dollar buiness traveler.BRIX, renowned for its quality music and exciting theme parties, is Singapore's hottest nightspot in town! Trendy, hip and fashionable bar located in the basement of Grand Hyatt Singapore. The Wine and Whisky Bar feature an exquisite selection of wines from the Wine Bar, whilst the latter serves a range of single malt scotch, cognacs and liqueurs. Live music is a major feature of the Music Bar, showcasing regular international guest bands, performing to Jazz Funk, R & B, Soul and...

Onxy Club: Ladies Night

by cwhit21

Friday night was ladies night. We got there early and it was empty most of the night. Ladies seemed to come in long before the guys did. Maybe they were going for the fashionbly late entrance. But whatever. They played all hip hop and R&B. Prices were fair too. Funny thing was the ladies were the only ones dancing pretty much all night except for us. The "thugged out" guys that finally did show up made the place look like a middle school dance. Most just stood there watching groups of women dance while they "sent out the vibe " in the corner. Was pretty sad if ya ask me. If ya dress like a thug then act like one and bust a move on the dance floor jeezzz...... Dont look like a tool.

Orchad Towers: Best of Both Worlds

by cwhit21

Well you can go here for a couple different reasons. Live music. Or if your into ladies for hire then theres plenty of that too. I was told by some Singaporeans that here has some of the best music in the city. The live band was pretty good so I can second that. Be carefull of the 4th floor bar right when you get off the escalator you might be suprised as to what you find in there. Whatever

Nelson Bar and Restaurant: Last Mariner/Sailor BAR in Singapore

by Travel2write

I first went to Nelson Bar in 1988 with my LPO James Morse. Back then Singapore was a different town. Today, tourism is in full force and a classic Sailor bar is hard to find. Next you may ask, what is a Sailor bar?1. When you walk in the door, they will remember your name. 2. When you say put it on my TAB, they ask your name and it is done. 3. If your hungry, they will run down to the restaraunt and get you some food.4. Buy a bottle of liquor, they will lable it , and save it for you. Be it a week, month, years!5. When your too drunk, they will make sure your in a cab and off safely. If you can find room, they will let you write your name on the walls, doors, bar, lights, you name it! Sailors have left there mark here and hopefully many more years are to come. Classic rock tunes, Cold Tiger beer and memories of many many salts that have sailed thru these doors prior! I know the idea...

Hard Rock Cafe, Singapore: A familiar place for all! - Hard Rock Cafe, S'pore

by kelnsha

Nothing much special but it is definitely one of the longest surviving cafe in Singapore. Check it out yourself! Drive around the streets of Singapore and you will notice just how clean the highways and bi-ways of this metropolis are kept. The people of this booming trade city pride themselves on keeping things orderly and spotless. They're quite hospitable as well. They know how to make life comfortable and give you the celebrity treatment. With draws like fine dining selections and the vast collection of music memorabilia lining their interior, you'll feel pampered when visiting the Hard Rock Cafe Singapore. Smart casual if I can recall.

Take a look at their cocktail list. You'll be impressed!. This place are really cozy and always crowded on friday. Well decor on the 1st floor with many antique chinese collection & lantern on the outside of the entrance. On the 2nd floor, you wlll find dozens of picture frame hanging on the wall from one place to the other end. And the best things you can do is,went you eating the peanut, just dump or throw the peanut shell on the floor!!. All over the place if you like it. Thats the rule.... Casual

This Club is The Best Pick up Mall in Singapore...!!. Not in the terms of shop till you drop but, working bar girls situated in this club.During the day time you'll find Orchard Towers like any of the other malls on the mile long road. You'll find your tailors shops and the electronic shops and a few places to eat and get a message if you are feeling tired. But you’ll also see that all clubs that take up well over half the mall that are closed up until around 5 pm when many start to open. Most of the shops in Orchard Towers will start to close up about 7 or 7:30 to avoid the rush of guys and girls that will soon occupy the malls clubs and surrounding areas. The girls that work in the mall really hate it when guys try to pick them up thinking they are a hooker. But most of the time, if not all the time, you can tell the difference between them and should always leave the "non-working"...

Feed & drink for all tastes

by northernbaldy

Many Singaporeans eat at hawker centres where a meal of local food will cost around S$3 to S$4.50 The hawker centres have high standards of hygience and since the people who run the stall actually own it and therefore have an interest in attracting business (compared to those at the many food courts in shopping malls who work for a company), people actually take pride in the quality of the food they serve. Many tourists head for Newton Hawker Centre near Orchard Road. Whilst this is a real hawker centre, the prices reflect the tourist trade with the stall holders really pushing seafood which will really significantly increase your bill. For a more genuine experience head for the hawker centre at Bedok Interchange. Another alternative for good seafood, satay & chicken wings is the hawker centre at East Coast Lagoon (on the coast road between the airport & the CBD)If you fancy mixing it...
