A walk around the MacRitchie Reservoir in the early morning for some nice cool fresh air is truly an experience.
The air is very freshing in the early morning at about 7:00am and the temperature is nice until about 10:00am.
In addition to the boardwalks, they have introduced the new submerged boardwalk where you can get your feet (up to ankle level) wet walking across it.
kayaking is allowed and so is fishing with artificial lure.

Marang Trail is the last stop for the Southern Ridges Walk. Marang Trail comes with a down hill steps to experience the natural rain forest. There were Angsana tree, Saga tree, and some shrubs, plants, climbers and flowers like Bat lily, ground orchids, and Crape ginger. During my visit, there were an old tree cute- down to make the walk ways. Once you are out from the Park, you will see an open car park space, a food court, bus terminal, and the MRT Station.

Henderson Bridge is the connection bridge between Telok Blangah Hill Park and Mount Faber Park. It is the highest pedestrian bridge in Singapore. It is 36m above Henderson Road. This bridge is made out of slats of yellow bakau wood. It has distinctive wave-like structures consisting of series of undulating curves "ribs". Many locals and some tourist likes to come here for jogging, enjoying views, and hanging out with friends.
After Henderson Walk, I continued to explore the Faber Walk and visit the Jewal Box, Sentosa Cabal Cars.

After the Forest Walk, You can continue to walk to Terrance Garden at the top of Telok Blangah Park. When you reach Terrance Garden, you can enjoy a stunning views of Singapore, then walk down the stair for the Hilltop Walk. This Hilltop Walk reminds me of some of the walks in Hong Kong and Macau. There have similar stairs and design of the walk. Telok Blangah Park has many beautiful old trees.
After walk down the stair from Hilltop Walk, you can make your way to Henderson Waves.

During the entire Southern Ridges experience, I think Forest Walk is the best as it has impressive steel bridge for the 1.3KM distance along an rain forest. It was very quiet, and not many people know these place, only few local residence doing jogging, and bird watching along the trail. I have told some of my Singaporean friends about this place, none of them has been here. The bridge was tall, and you can get a good views of different angles of Singapore. There were some local houses on Preston Road, beautiful houses surrounded by tall and green trees. The Residents can enjoy the walk on the bridge in front of their houses.
Don't miss...
After the Forest Walk, you can continue to walk up to Hilltop Walk, where you can see Singapore on higher ground.

Alexandra Arch Bridge is the connection between Hort Park and Forest walk. It shapes like an opened leaf across Alexandra Road. The bridge is lit up by LED lights at night. It is only 0.08km, but unique structure highlights the modern architecture with nature.
The bridge is continued with forest walk, another long steel bridge along the rain forest in Singapore.

After the Canopy- Walk turn right before the Condominium, you need to walk down the stair to continue your walk to Floral walk. Floral walk is just an walking path in a open park. Locals love jogging and walking around enjoying the green park. After the Floral walk, you enter into Hort Park.
Hort Park is a more established park in term of facilities, education, and retail activities. First, I passed by the Glass House. It has cool and dry temperature and suitable to plant species from Mediterranean regions. And then, I continued discovered more things in the Park including the Butterfly Garden, some local exhibitions of horticultural , and a beautiful building with classrooms, Visitor Information Center, restaurants, and cafes.
It take you few hours to see it all in this park.
After Hort Park, I continued walking to Alexandra Arch.

Kent Ridge Park is just next to National University of Singapore. You can either take the MRT to Buona Vista Station, then take the bus 200 to South Buona Vista Road, or walk from National University of Singapore. If you walk from University of Singapore, you will pass through historical site during WW II.
I started my Southern Ridges walk from Kent Ridge Park. I took the bus from the MRT station, and reached the Park. The park was very quiet , not crowded at all even during public holiday. From the eastern side of the Park is where the Canopy Walk begins. Their signboards are quite good, so you will not miss it. It is a beautiful wooded bridge surrounded by rain forests. You could see pitcher plants and wild orchid along the trail, and hear the birds. In the middle of the bridge, you can see the view of Bukit Chandu, and to learn the history at the "Reflection of Bukit Chandu" Museum at the end of the trail.
After Canopy Walk, I continue my walk to Hort Park and Flora Walk.

SIGLAP PARK CONNECTOR (3)
The trail from the Reservoir to Kembangan MRT is approx. 5 km. It’s again a journey that takes you through a variety of green corridors, parks and suburbs.
From the Reservoir you cross the street (Reservoir Road) and zigzag your way between car parks and appartment blocks, before crossing the canal.
A bit boring but hey, don’t worry, within a few minutes you have already reached the next park, the Bedok Town Park. This green zone is the tight buffer between not less than the Pan Island Expressway and a HDB Estate.
While there’s not specifically anything wrong with it, it misses any memorable features.
The trail ends abruptly at the Bedok North Road, that needs to be crossed via the overpass.
This particular overpass is a fine example of the well designed collection of Singaporean Overpasses. You will get some good views on Bedok North Road, which is lined with some beautiful trees.
