There are a few guided tour every month. The guided tour I joined is by NPark, every 4th Saturday morning (9:30 and 10am) in the month and it is free of charge. Pre-book is not necessary unless you have big group.
Frankly speaking, you need a guide to guide you through the trail to be able to appreciate the wonderful of nature and the usage of those plantations.
The person in the picture is our guide, he is telling us the history of Ubin.

Get your map from the Information Kiosk. If you are cycling, make sure you ask the information kiosk what to see around because the map is not comprehensive, it only shows the route and huts located around but never shows the places to visit.

Pulau Ubin is so rustic that the only way to get there is via a bum boat ride that is gauranteed to give your cellulite a good workout. Yup, most of these boatman think nothing about riding the waves like a cowboy so brace yourself for a bumpy ride to Pulau Ubin.
To find all of em' water cowboys, go to Changi Jetty. You'll find lots of boats moored there. Holler to a willing chap. If luck is on your side, there'll be a waiting boat there, close to the steps. If not, you'll need to hop from one boat to another to reach it. Some dexterity is needed here but you don't need to be Spiderman. I've seen grannies leaping effortlessly sometimes.
The ride cost a rustic S$2 per way and there are no fixed times for departure. Those water cowboys leave only when there are enough passengers in his boat. Yee-ha...

Another of P. Ubin's great draw are her little private beaches. Lovely to look at one when the sun is down. Here's a picture of Nordin Beach, a little strip of sand that I reached after peddaling my lungs out.

And off you go on your bike, along the way, you'll discover hidden gems like this disused quiet quarry over here. It makes such a pretty picture that you can almost imagine a swordsman appearing out of nowhere to skim over the waters to the beat of some Chinese drums..

There's about 4 or 5 bike shops littered around the jetty around so choosing a bike shouldn't be a problem. Just remember to bring some kind of identification of yourself for the rental. And check ....
1)the suspension of course - Trust me, it is no fun wobbling your cellulite on those rocky trails.
2) the brakes..I nearly killed a wild boar once when my brakes failed me. Luckily for the pig, i swerved and ended in a ditch instead. Now, that's what I call bad luck with a road hog.
Cost
$5-$6 for half a day's usage.

As you look at the map, you'll find out that there's little private beaches to explore and nooks and crannies ideal for roughing it out a mountain bike. So what is the next thing you do? Search for a bike rental shop of course...

Chek Jawa, located on the easternmost tip of Pulau Ubin, is a unique coastal haven, comprising six major habitats. These are coastal forest, sandy beach, mangrove, lagoon, rubble-strewn, coral flat and a tiny island, all packed within a small area of about one square kilometre.
The shallow low-tide lagoon, consisting of fine sands, supports a rich marine flora. The seagrass bed is extensive and supports an astonishing diversity of marine fauna not commonly found elsewhere in Singapore. These include various species of Carpet Anemones, Sea Stars, Sand Dollars and Sea Cucumbers. Rare and multi-colored sponges abound on the degrading coral flat.
Chek Jawa is managed by National Park Board and they organised guided walk every month. You need to make a reservation for this guided walk as the guide will bring you round Chek Jawa for a 45 minutes walk.
