Da Sheng Mushroom Minced Pork Noodle: Bak Chor Mee!

by kelnsha

It is almost the same with every food courts with air-conditioning, free-sittings for the tables and chairs. What makes it special is the minced pork noodle (or bak chor mee in hokkien). Most food courts offer sulky food but the bak chor mee (minced pork noodle) at Plaza Singapura is quite happpening! That's because it's part of the big Da Sheng chain around town that boasts awards for their "fine culinary skill"! The noodles have a nice dose of vinegar; just the right amount of sauce and comes with generous helpings of mushrooms, seaweed, lettuce, fake scallops, meat and lard cubes (which you should throw out). It's a little oily but the slithery texture of the noodles is what makes this dish!

Chocolat N' Spice: You'll love the muffins here! - Chocolat N' Spice

by kelnsha

This is not a restaurant. It is one of the stalls in Shunfu Mart. They are cheap and yummy! One costs SGD1.00 or SGD1.20 depending on flavours. They also sell specialty/festive cakes, pies and desserts. They have another branch at Blk 1, Tanjong Pagar Plaza (opposite Turf Club), #01-18, Singapore 082001. My favourite is chocolate muffins because they are simply irresistable.

Dan Ryan's: Chicago Grill

by kelnsha

Dan Ryan's Chicago Grill offers authentic American steaks, ribs, burgers, sandwiches and salad in a friendly, lively and upscale atmosphere. The restaurant features period music, old newspapers, posters, neon signs and an artist's mural depicting vintage Chicago night life. A comfortable and relaxed setting. The stylish and relaxed Dan Ryan's offers a genuine American dining experience for customers of all ages! It has to be their Full Slab Ribs. They are so delicious that you want another serving! Cheers!

Aji Tei Japanese and Dessert House: Yummy Japanese Food! - Aji Tei Japanese & Dessert

by kelnsha

I have just taken my dinner at Aji Tei Japanese and Dessert House. The few dishes I tried were Tonpeiyaki (slices pork & cabbage with egg omelette), Tofu Mentai, Yaki-Soba (fried noodle - SGD11.80) and Macha Sundae Anmitsu (include warabi mochi and macha jelly).I will rate the ambience and surroundings a 7 out of 10. The only thing I observed that there were a few tiny flying insects but they were harmless and we were not bothered by them at all. The staffs even offered to change our table to somewhere further away from the insects. If you have the Ajisen VIP card, you will enjoy 15% off from your bill. If not, you can apply on the spot for SGD5 and enjoy discount instantly. There are other branches at Bugis Junction (80 Middle Road #01-88/89 Tel: 63339880) and IMM Building (2 Jurong East Street 21 #01-114 Tel: 65645610). Their parent company is Ajisen Japanese Restaurant and Noodle Bar...

Ah Chew Desserts: Try Their Desserts! - Ah Chew Desserts

by kelnsha

A cooling place for afternoon dessert. This is a small Hongkong-style dessert shop with less than 15 tables. You may have to wait a while in order to have a seat.Business Hours: Tuesday to Friday from 12:30pm to 11:30pm and Saturday to Sunday from 1:30pm to 11:30pm. Close on Monday. The Black sesame paste is very fine and easy to drink!

Zuko Restaurant: The Cakes and Desserts are the BEST!!!

by bkoon

Located in the Siglap area, this corner Italian Restaurant serves delicious food. Its signature dishes include the Spicy Spaggetti with some Wine (cannot remember the exact name), the soup there is nice too and the pork ribs are huge and juicy. My favourite is still their desserts. They look really normal but once tasted, yummy, you just cannot stop eating. Desserts :- Tiramisu (must try)- Triple Chocolate Cake- Apple Crumble- etc etc

Ji De Chi Hongkong Style Dessert Eatery: Don't Miss The Sesane Paste! - Ji De Chi Eatery

by kelnsha

This dessert shop can be full during weekends and you can see locals like to have their dessert here. The opening hours are from 11am to 10pm daily and the main branch is located at 46 Upper Cross Street, #01-02 (Chinatown MRT Exit E). Tel: 62266628 and the opening hours are the same. I was there on 2 Jan 07 and the Sesane Paste left a very good impression. The taste and texture is just right for me.

Hongkong Kim Gary Restaurant: Not as good as the one at Kuala Lumpur - Kim Gary

by kelnsha

Almost as good as the one at Kuala Lumpur (KL) Sungei Wang Plaza.Great view of Sentosa Island! Some of the food we ordered when we visited there on 4 Jan 07:1. Pork Chop in Black Pepper Sauce (SGD5.90)2. Hot and Spicy Noodles with chicken (SGD6.90)3. HK Style Cheese Baked Rice (SGD9.50)*prices exclude service charge (10%) It is still the French Toast - SGD2.00

Azabu Sabo (Part II): Hokkaido Ice-Cream

by y_lyn

This time round we didn't go into the restaurant to have the dessert. Instead we bought their Hokkaido ice-cream at the entrance of the restaurant for take-away. The ice cream is made from fragrant and rich Hokkaido milk, with no chemical additives. This type of ice-cream is still consider quite new in S'pore and still remains quite popular. My hubby and I chose 1 favour each. I chose the green tea favour and he chose the blueberry and strawberry favour. How does the double scoop cone look like? (See the attached photo). A scoop of ice-cream no longer comes in a ball shape. We ate the ice-cream outside the restaurant but it seems that we were helping the shop to publicize their ice-cream. Soon, more and more couples mainly, joined the queue to buy the ice-cream. If you chose to have the double scoop in a cup, it will cost you $5. Our double scoop cone cost $5.50.~ 13 Jan 2007
