Azabu Sabo: Authentic Jap Desert

by y_lyn

This resturant is situated at the popular shopping area - Marina Square. I didn't try their main course like bento or ramen as I heard that it wasn't very impressive. This resturant is popular because of their dessert so my friends and I came here for this purpose - Dessert!! We ordered 4 different desserts and the one that I chose - Grean tea ice-cream in a bowl of red bean paste and dumplings, is the one that I like best. The ice-cream is delicate and smooth, leaves you yearning for more. It is complemented with sweet red beans and indeed, it is a very good combination. Serving is quite small and each desert cost around $8.~ 1 May 06

Chatterbox Coffee House: Home of the Mandarin Chicken Rice - Chatterbox

by kelnsha

Try the most expensive (if I'm not wrong) and one of the best Singapore Famous Chicken Rice here! Of course there are many other local dishes like Nasi Lemak (Malay coconut rice with fried fish, chicken wings, peanuts and etc), Lobster Laksa (noodle with coconut curry gravy) and Bak Kut Teh (pork with herbal soup) but all of them are almost five times the price you can find at any local food centres or food courts.Opens daily from Sundays to Thursdays: 5:00 am to 1:00 am while Fridays, Saturdays and Eve of Public Holidays are 24 hours. There is a 10% discount if you pay by UOB or HSBC credit card. Cheers! My favourite dish is the Nasi Lemak because I like the fragrance of the coconut milk rice and all the tasty dishes accompanying it.

Azabu Sabo: Japanese Desserts

by wandering_wing

Azabu Sabo is a dessert shop and teahouse. The ambience is nice and quiet (less quiet in dinner time). The walls are decorated with paintings depicting the scenes from the Tales of Genji.Staff are friendly. Expect a long quene during dinner time.Have a good time! 1. Tofu and Avocado Salad with wasabi dressing If you are an avocado lover, this is for u. The wasabi dressing is unique yet not too exploding for the brain. The almond flakes add favour to the dish and is a nice touch to this salad. 2. Cold Ramen noodles with Seafood in Sesame Mayonnaise First to say, the seafood serving is generous: prawns, squids...The sesame dressing is refreshing, with the springy noodles it's a nice combination. This dish also has my favourite: almond flakes on it. Desserts: They have their own Japanese Ice Cream Specialist that introduce a special technique of making Hokkaido ice cream. I recommend the ice...

Nanxiang Steamed Bun Restaurant: Not so good Chinese Dim Sum-Nanxiang Steamed Bun

by kelnsha

The food there is not as good as the ambience. The restaurant's setting and surrounding made me feel comfortable and it does look like a Chinese restaurant but if you are looking for nice Chinese dim sum, you can give this place a miss. Nothing that I will really recommend.

Imperial Treasure La Mian Xiao Long Bao Restaurant: 1 of my favourite steamed pork dumpling Restaurant

by kelnsha

It is a very convenient place, right at the center of one of Singapore largest shopping mall. An open concept dining place. You can watch people eating and shopping there. The service is quite good. Some of the food we ordered on 29 Dec 07 (other than those mentioned with photos below):1. La Mian with pork and wanton (SGD7.00)2. Golden Pastry (SGD5.50) Definitely the Shanghai steamed pork dumplings because they are so juicy and piping hot.

Savoir: Fine Dining at Far East Square

by y_lyn

Savoir is a conventional French restaurant - Savoir's fare is distinctly 'french cuisine with an Asian touch'. I was here with my hubby to celebrate his 30th birthday. We had a 6-course meal which include appetizer - salad/deep-fried goat cheese/escargot, mushroom soup, apricot sorbet, lamb shank/ pan-fried seabass, dessert - green tea ice-cream (melts really fast) and beverages.~ 29 Jun 2006

The Cliff: Sentosa Beaufort Hotel

by Flipboy

My view:The atmosphere is the main reason to go to The Cliff at Sentosa's Beaufort Hotel. The food is actually not all that good. The price is high and the menu is quite limited. Although the site says Seafood most of the dishes they offer are only fish dishes, with only one veg dish and I saw a beef dish too but that is all. What the website says:Designed by famed Japanese designer, Yasuhiro Koichi, The Cliff sets new standards in the culinary arts. Perched on a cliff overlooking the South China Sea and blessed with gentle breezes, this alfresco style restaurant is a heaven for connoisseurs of fine seafood and wine. The menu reflects the creative spirit of our Chef de Cuisine, Shawn Armstrong, who prepares his dishes with a distinct modern French flair.

Corduroy & Finch

by Flipboy

My view:Run by a friendly South African, this gem in the rough is wrought with atmosphere. From first glance it may seem to be just a deli but with a loft style dinning area hidden upstairs, furnished with large comfortable couches, it is much more than just your average deli. From fine wine to fine food this place is well equipped with everything to taste your bud. Though if you are looking for vegetarian their choices are a bit limited, but that wont stop them from temping you. What the website says:"...also offers products such as gourmet baby food, house pates and sous vide - vacuum-packed dishes that can be heated up at home"
