There are plenty of...

by mnybondas

There are plenty of restaurants in Singapore for all tastes and budgets. The Compass Rose restaurant in the 71st floor of the Westin Stamford hotel is a good choice if you appreciate a nice view overlooking the city. In the Raffles hotel there are also several upscale restaurants. The food courts are an excellent choice for budget minded travellers. You can find food courts around the city. A food court in Singapore usually consists of several small restaurants which offer different cuisines on a self-service fast food principle. The food courts are almost always crowded during lunch time, but it is a cheap alternative. You can have a good meal for only 4 Singapore dollars. This is only around 2 US dollars.

by Kallista

If you are willing to spend more, check out Lemongrass Thai Restaurant! The black olive rice and the claypot vermicelli prawns are items not to be missed!Or check out Nooch, a noodle bar run by my next-door neighbour, Paul. This eatery serves all sorts of noodles cooked in various styles.Or try the House Of Sundanese… my friends and I like the spicy dishes as well as the red hot chilli condiments. For those who are unable to accept the spicy dishes can choose the non-spicy ones such as the “Ayam Pengkang” … Ayam means chicken, or the Barbecued Snapper ... well-known for its tender meat.Prices : It is likely to cost from S$20/US$12 to S$50/US$30 for 2 persons.

by Kallista

True Blue Singaporeans will go to the end of the world for top-notch yummies at low, low, low price. First, start with an appetizer of Selera curry puffs at 102 Tyrwhitt Rd, or barbeque chicken wings at the stall just across the street. Then head down to Tiong Bahru Hawker Centre for a plate of stirred fried rice noodles with beef, also known as 'Beef Hor Fun”, or for the benefit of non-beef eaters, check out the stall that sells chicken rice or try the roast duck with a serving of rice ... “Shiok”! (“Shiok” means very tasty). It is often washed down with a glass of iced cold soya bean drink. (Drink made of soya bean .... ) The entire meal will not cost more than S$5 ... US$3! Alfresco dining ... nothing scenic to look at .... just people and the mixed aroma of cooked food!
