mode et creation ~ mr anthony: tailor in singapore ~ review ~ good service

by pettypoh

MODE ET CREATION at FAR EAST SHOPPING CENTRE (beside Wheelock Place - Borders)Men's tailoring service - AAA service ... Mr Anthony (owner) is very friendly. Totally no hard-sell at all.I also found him via internet reviews and all have been good. Didn't think tailoring would be so easy and smooth process. After some chit-chat with him, discovered he has been in this line for 30 YEARS! and have worked with ZEGNA (even before they opened S'pore outlet) Till now, he still maintains top workmanship by doing the measurements, cutting and blah3 personally.Only had to do 1 fitting session, easy peasy, save time save hassle. Got the suit for $600, shirt for $120.Rates quite standard (depending on material chosen) but he will always offer you "cheap and good materials" unless you personally decide on the very expensive stuff =D tailored suits, shirts, pants at least 550 for a suit, 80 for a...

Monde D' Or: Jewellery brand in Singapore

by nazemuddeen

This store situated at the 1st floor of Vivocity, just opposite Citibank and next to the taxi drop off point has some amazing jewellery in their collection. Their "Soft Gold" collection & "Nature" collection was particularly very interesting for their use of soft gold materials in creation of their jewellery.

A.R. Money Exchange: Money Exchange in Bishan Junction 8 Shopping Ctr

This is the only money exchange in Bishan Junction 8 Shopping Centre and the rate is quite good. Nothing special except you need this in order to shop beside credit cards. Exchange as much money as you like.

Books

by Pomska

There are several places to go if you want to buy good books. At the Wheelock Place you will find Borders and Tower Books is at Pasific Plaza. Bookshops called Big Bookshop and Popular Bookshop offer stationery at bargain prices. One great bookshop is Times which you can find for example in Orchard road and in Suntec City Mall.

Suntec City Mall

by Pomska

Suntec City Mall is the largest shopping mall in Singapore. There are many good stores to wander around. There is a good Carrefour in the mall. The mall is open from 10am to 10pm.There is also Fountain of Wealth which is the world's largest fountain and it has a laser and sound show every evening. It is designed based on the Hindu mandala and it is a symbolic representation of the openess in spirit, unity and harmony among the four races in Singapore.

Warehouse sales @ The Expo

by xuessium

Join the Singaporean passion for picking up things cheap, as long as you don't mind the stuff for being so LAST season (or for that the matter, LAST LAST season) and only if you really don't mind jostling with hordes of Singaporeans for that last piece of cheap bargain. Trust me, never cross the path of a Singapore housewife who is determined that you are never going to cheat her out of that last pair of shoes at 80% price off. You'll be the one scampering off into the crowd with your tail between your legs.Every opportunity of a long weekend or during the school holidays, quite a number of departmental stores (notably John Little, Metro & Robinson) as well as the bookstore chains (Times, MPH & Popular) will take the excuse to organise a warehouse sale to grab your hard-earned money by selling their oh-so-last-year collections at drop dead prices. Prices could be as high as 90% off from...

Lucky Plaza: Get Lucky!

by Travel2write

Conveniently located at the hub of Orchard Road - the shopping paradise of Singapore, Lucky Plaza is a haven for tourists and local shoppers alike. They offer an amazing range of products and services; from the latest fashion trends to the newest health-care products to cutting-edge electronics, even the delicious home-style hawker fare that you thought could not be found anymore in modern Singapore! Great shopping for cell phones and lots of locals shop for clothing here. Only downfall is, most clothing here is for smaller people.

These are the places to be if you are hunting for IT stuff. Whole malls of them. I am not much of an IT person but I am pretty sure you can get virtually what you want from this 2 places. Some shops you may bargain, more so at Sim Lim Square. IT stuff and gadgets as well as camera and telecommunication equipment.
