Favorite thing: as in any major cities, people don't generally trust tap water and hence the water refilling stations and water bottling companies are making a killing selling various kinds of bottled water like distilled water, spring water, mountain spring water, alkaline water, purified water and more and here in Singapore is no Different so yopu can buy bottled water everywhere like in convenience stores or restaurants or hotels and malls.

Fondest memory: a peculiarity, most of the fresh water in singapore is Imported from Malaysia since Singapore is a small island state with hardly any water supply. they come in different sizes and the average prize of a 500 ml bottle water will be Singapore $ 1 and for larger sizes like 1 liter bottles will costs $ 2. with the tropical and humid climate, you will buy lots of them here and again are available everywhere.

Water from any Tap in Singapore is Safe to Drink

    by Amar_kirale Updated Apr 19, 2010 38 reviews

Favorite thing: Water from any Tap in Singapore is Safe to Drink. Government takes the responsiblility and ownership of providing safe drinking water to it's citizens. So much so, that it takes guarantee of every drop. They are so confident that they are planning to ban bottled water in Singapore inorder to avoid pollution beacuse of the plastic.

Hats Off to the dedication and quality control measures taken forth by Singapore Government.

    No Need For Bottled Water

    by Aidy_p Written Jun 3, 2007 613 reviews

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Favorite thing: Through all my travels, I regularly wondered if I can drink the tap water in that country. Sometimes, we are even advised to brush our teeth with bottled water. Most of the time, I do not heed the latter advice.

In Singapore, there is no need to worry about unclean tap water. It can be drunk straight off the tap.

Electrical mains are like in the UK

by Skylink Written Feb 28, 2005 295 reviews

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Favorite thing: Big and clumsy looking with a switch on the mains (outlets). However, the metal prongs are thick, sturdy, and not usually bendable like in some countries that don't use the UK compatible system.

The voltage is 220V so don't use American, Canadian, Japanese appliances unless they can withstand the higher voltage (usually they can't except a few travel things, like shavers and some battery rechargers)
