Favorite thing: In its absolute organization and cleanliness, Singapore reaches a strange balance between the preserved colonial buildings and the modern look of the skyscrapers. The Orient looks present everywhere, but the way of life is closer to the west.
What a strange but perfect blending...

Favorite thing: Whatever you call it, you have to take advantage of Singapore's fantastic public transport system. Get an EZlink card and commute to your heart's content.
1. EZ Link: http://www.ezlink.com.sg
2. get the official Singapore map at the airport. It's for free and after you study it for about 30minutes, you'd figure out the MRT right away and you can move around the city really fast.
3. Having a map will show you the actual location of the sites. You will also discover that many of these places are actually a walking distance away from each other.

Fondest memory: I encounter this public bus while on my way to catch my return train. Very old yet very unique.

Fondest memory: Singapore, like Miami Beach and the Kings Road in London, has a disproportionately high number of performance cars on the road. In Singapore even mid-range European luxury cars are about 300,000 SGD so I hate to think what these beasts cost. The accumulation of wealth and material things though, and the conspicuous display of wealth, is of extreme importance to Singaporeans. Flashy mobile phones, designer clothes, Rolex watches and luxury cars are what it's all about here.

Favorite thing: In Singapore there is a big mix .... of architectura, people and ... everything. In the pic you can see how little colourfull houses of chinatown are side by side with giant grey buildings.

Fondest memory: Although Singapore is very modern and very Asian it was nice for me to see small reminders of its colonial past about the place.
