Clark Quay is the former trading harbour of Singapore that has today become a real nightlife mecca with lot's of bars, restaurants, cafes and clubs.
The place can be very lively at night especially during weekends and it's a nice place to go as long as you are ready for prices that are not very cheap.
It's located in the center of Singapore about 1 kilometer from Raffles Hotel.
Most buildings there are still old fashioned lowrise buildings and that gives it a cosy charm.
One other good thing is that if one place is not what you expected it to be then you can just walk next door to see if that is better as you have dozens of places in Clark Quay that are alive at night.
one of my favorite hang outs is in singapore and i had to try this out what else! well their nearly famous chicken wings taste virtually the same everywhere hence this is what I ordered and a couple of Heinekens and long island iced teas (singapore $ 13.90 which is more expensive since it is only $ 9 in the US). the prices are about the same as in the United States at Singapore $ 19.90 (it's $ 18 in the US) for the chicken wings. The best deal here is to buy the famous hooters girl yearly calendar at Singapore $ 9 and a shot glass at $ 8.

Very nice bar right at Clarke Quay. The evening we went it was not very packed and as in every club, it was very cold inside. Be sure to bring a sweater, if you are feeling cold easyly.
Or as realdestinations.com puts it: "Downstairs, you’ll find Bar Cocoon – a venue for lounging, socializing and clubbing with massive opium beds enveloped by silk lanterns and drapery providing a sensuous charm to its relaxing ambience."

By the time we entered, there was noone checking about our clothes. But if you want to get in touch with some lovely girls you have to dress to impress.
Nick Leeson, from the infamous Barings bank episode hung out at Harry's regularly.
But this watering hole, with the great live jazz, drinks and food holds an appeal for a lot of Singapore visitors as well.
Operating Hours:
Mondays to Thursdays: 11am to 1am
Fridays & Saturdays: 11am to 2am
Sundays: 11am to 1am
Happy Hours from 11am to 9pm everyday
Crazy Hour: Mondays to Fridays from 5pm to 7pm
The place for some very nice, relaxing jazz sounds. This was a welcome relief after walking along Boat Quay and hearing the awful techno rubbish blaring out of several bars.
There is no cover charge but the drinks ain't cheap! We paid 27 SD for 2 beers.
The atmosphere is great though and the food good if you want to eat.

There doesn't appear to be one.
I was rather disappointed by the Eski Bar, not only was it not that cold (we didn't need the jackets supplied - which we were glad of because they smelled!), but it was just very ordinary. I was expecting it to at least look like an igloo or something, but it was basically just a cold bar no different to any other in Singapore!

This place is quite popular with Pub hoppers. This place is always buzzing with people in the evenings till late night, even on a working day.
This place has all kinds of bars and restaurants, serving variety of cusines, in variety of Ambiences.
Clinci C for instance serves liquor in an IV tube, and shots in test tubes. The ambience ofcourse is that of an hospital.
The Quays in this area where the old culture was first established is house with fine dining and outdoor restaurants with view to the river and other historical places. The place has got a beautiful view and it is packed with people who come to good food and nice talks. It is a perfect place to dine with your special someone and close to place where you can dance the night away or just watch people and talk the night away.
There are plenty of resto bars, restaurants indoor and outdoor in the area. You will never have hard time finding the best spots since the place itself will be calling your attention.

Some place asks to dress appropriately. Best to be casual and look smart.
In the area Boat Quay is easy to walk around and so to make photos like here-
at real and the photo shoes it-
it is an interest impression comparing architecture of the new towers with the old traditional buildings at the quay.
And surprising in Singapore, at clear nights even here inmid the inner city between the great towers some south stars are to see (photo in 1997)-
compare it with the night view inside the blanket of smog in Jakarta!
1. Get in to Clarke Quay early to enjoy 2 for 1 drink specials. This will bring the cost of a beer down from about $14 to $7 each.
2. Buy your beer from 7-11 convenience stores and drink it on the Clarke Quay bridge. This is as good a night spot to mix and mingle as any.
3. Wednesday is 'Ladies Night' in Singapore. Most clubs offer free entry as well as free drinks (cheap champagne) until about 11pm. (Free entry for girls all night though.)
4. My favourite spots: Le Noir, Attica and The Pump Room (Live 80's band daily).
Dress Code:
Collared shirts and shoes for guys. Girls can usually get by with day wear.
