Chijmes: the fabulous Nitespot of Chijmes part 1

by machomikemd Updated May 2, 2011

The former Roman Catholic Convent and School Called Convent of the Holy Infant Jesus and the Big Caldwell House that was Reverted to Government Control in 1983 after it was relocated to another area of Singapore is now one of the Premier Shopping and Dining and Nitespot Destination in Singapore. It is just a stone's throw in my hotel in Oxford that I must try it. This Gothic syle Monument now house some of the coolest Club Lounges and Bars and restaurants in Singapore. Chijmes' walls offer all types of cuisine from Chinese to Mediterranean and the variety of bars allow for romantic or Friendly and even Flirting conversation in spots such as Ocho, hard clubbing at China Jump and live music at Insomnia and Tapas at Bobby's tapas Bar and loud Music at Central. A lot of foreigners also go here and the price of the food and the drinks especially the beers don't come cheap! (at least $ 10 a draft glass at happy hour price which lasts from 9:00 pm to 2:00 am and $ 15 for large draft beers like Guiness or Tiger or Heineken or Carlsberg).

Dress Code: Smart Casual heck you can even wear shorts and flip flops inside unless you want to enter the chill out lounges inside where the attire is not allowed.

the best areas to party in in the middle in the huge courtyard where the center of the action is where the music blares loud, for really silent conversation, try the restaurants and bars at the periphery and the club lounges are at the basement.
