Wednesday is Mambo night and also Ladies Night. There'll be songs like 'Heaven on Earth', 'Rumor', 'Square Rooms' and 'Summer Rain'. RETRO. People would be dancing to those songs with real dance steps. :)

My friend Lorriane couldn't wait to take me to Singapore's finest Nightclub Zouk. I must say I had a really great time and think this is a really nice club to go for dancing. Really great atmosphere and just look at the superb pictures my friend took while we was there.

Very recommended. Arrived to crowds outside the club, but no lines. Excellent wine list. The wine bar was room 1 of a 3 room club. After finding breakbeats in the room next door, imagine my surprise when i enter the main room to a sea of people worshipping a dj who was none other than house master: Danny Tenaglia, infamous for his insaaaaaaanely super long 12 hour sets...not to mention his uncanny ability to make those the shortest 12 hours of your life.

If you arrive in Singapore on a weekday and wonder where all the people have gone.. wait till Fris and Sats..@ Zouk! OMG it was PACKED! This place, to me, is the most alive spot in the country.
There are 4 sections: Zouk, Phuture, Velvet Underground and Wine bar. Each section plays different kind of music. You have to pay a cover charge separately for each one. The charge is around 20SGD and it includes 1-2 drinks depending on what you order. I only paid to go to Zouk (hip hop) and Phuture (techno n dance stuff). Music was pretty good with quality cocktails.
Check out the website for any special happennings or promotion.
PS If you dont see many cuties and hotties during your stay, check out this club. You wont be disappointed.

It's difficult to categorise/ themed Zouk.
Zouk
Divided into 4 sections...if i remembered correctly.
WIne bar. Velvet Underground. Zouk. Phuture.
Enter the small road from the main road. On your right is the Copthorne Hotel. Walk on down the road, and you'll be greeted by the bright neon sign that says *Zouk.
The best way to enjoy this club is to get a tix for Velvet Underground. The stamp will allow you to roam in all the other rooms. But of course, if you know the bouncer or somebody who works there, would probably be even better :)
Velvet Underground
Cosy lounge area with the dance floor facing the Bar. A more intimate setting. Older crowd.
Music: New York House & Garage
Phuture
A long futuristic modern winding bar. Attracts the younger crowd. People dancing all over the place.
Music: Big beat, hiphop, breaks, drum & bass, down tempo, nu-jazz, experimental
Zouk
The biggest room in da house! The main dance floor! This is where international DJs meet and show off their stuffs...from DJ Paul Oakenfold, Nick Warren, Seb Fontaine, John Digweed, Sasha ....just to name a few. Live acts...Bjork, Massive Attack, The Chemical Brothers. Attracts all age group.
Music: Different themes and styles of music played on diff night of the week
Wine Bar
A pre-club bar and chill out area after a whole nite of dancing. Located near the main entrance.

No bermudas!

Usually, I'm always suspicious when I read to many hyped reviews about a club but this one deserve its reputation. They regularly have European DJ invited. The night I went there was a regular night but still packed. The great thing with this bar is its multiple atmosphere so you can go from one bar to an other depending on how you feel.
(Didn't take picture at Zouk but thought I'd motivate the guys (again) with what you might see there....) ( An other occasion to practice my Singlish)
