Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Umbrella or rain gear should be handy if you are visiting Singapore. Weather in Singapore changes very quickly and that too without warning. Though there is nothing to worry as such because the rains in SG are not heavy. It almost rains throughout the year but most of the time its in the form of mild showers which lasts for few minutes.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: If you get caught anywhere in the rain, find a HANG TEN or Giordano shop. You can buy an umbrella from them, keep the receipt, and return it at any of their outlets at another day. The difference between what you pay for the umbrella initially and what they refund you is the rental fee.

Luggage and bags: Even though Singapore is in a tropical area-it doesn't rain every day. But you never know when it's going to rain, unless you are here during the monsoon (late october to feb).
When packing for your trip to southeast asia-i highly recommend bringing a small, but strong umbrella. One that can handle heavy downpours. If you don't have the room or forget it at home-you can always rent one at select locations. At the store Giordano-you can rent one. Some information kiosks in the mall-will rent you one, by leaving a deposit. I have rented one from the Heeren shopping center on Orchard Road.
If you want to buy a new umbrella here in Singapore-you will be spoiled by choice. Lots and lots of tiny umbrellas, Even umbrellas that come with hard plastic that surrounds the umbrella when wet or dry. When open it looks like a little bottle is on top the umbrella.

Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: I think you need an umbrella...fair enough it is a hot country, but it does rain quite a lot! SO i think a small umbrella would be sufficient!

Miscellaneous: Umbrellas-an essential gear
In a tropical country like Singapore, an umbrella serves to provide shade on a sunny day and keeps you dry on a rainy day. And mind you, it can be bright and suuny and the next moment, it is rainning cats and dogs

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Wear T-shirt and short sleeve shirt. Long sleeve shirt and jacket look weird here because of the hot weather.
Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: Bring your swimcloth if you want to swim or sunbath.
Miscellaneous: Almost everything can be bought here.
