Aburiya is a little different to most restaurants in that you cook your own food. On each table is a mini BBQ that is filled with red hot, glowing pieces of charcoal. After ordering, your food arrives consisting of salad, soup and raw meat. You then proceed to cook the meat on the BBQ. It's actually very good. The meat, which has been marinated, is of an exceptionally high quality and requires very little cooking. The sauces provided are very tasty. Sitting outside though it can get a bit smoky. If you sit inside there are extraction hoods above each table to take away the smoke from the cooking but inside the restaurant you don't get the ambience from sitting outside by the river.
