Marina Food Court: Great viewing deck

The best thing about this food court is the great alfresco dining with impressive views that overlook the Marina Bay, a bit of the Marina promenade, the whole of the Esplanade and the grassland next to the East Coast Expressway near the flyover.

It was also a sensational spot to take in a fireworks display which was in preparation for Singapore's National Day on August the 9th. Although it was only a practise run, it was still a spectacular display.

A big thanks goes to imstress for organising this because I wouldn't known that this would be such a great spot to watch the sky show. We were also joined by jenaikes.

Favorite Dish: Char siew are long strips of seasoned boneless pork that are skewered with long forks and placed in a covered oven or over a fire.

The porkis seasoned with a mixture of honey, five-spice powder, fermented tofu, soy sauce, hoisin sauce and rice wine. The seasoning turns the outside layer of meat dark red with a shiny glaze.

This pork is served with white rice and drizzled with dark soy sauce. Absolutely delicious and only S$3.50 for a serve!

Fancy buffet style steamboat? Head down to marina south then. With a wide selection of steamboat stalls, this the most popular place for locals to have their steamboat feast. Eat all you can for SGD$10-SGD$12 per person. (Best time to go would be in the evening)

Marina South Hawker Centre: Steamboat Seafood Buffet - Guaranteed Satisfaction

by moomoos Updated Mar 11, 2003

The whole place is full of stalls offering seafood steamboat buffet stalls. In front of these stalls is a big grass field. Sometimes children fly kites here when it's windy.

It is advisable to walk around the different stalls and check out the quality & freshness of the raw food before deciding which stall to settle down at.

Go early so that you will be able to have a good variety of food before it finishes. Buffet starts from 5pm-midnight.

Favorite Dish: Everything is absolutely yummie. The package includes starters, the buffet spread & ice-cream for dessert.

The price ranges from S$12.00-S$15.00 pax.

Come with an empty stomach. =)
