at Pagoda Street at Chinatown and at its perpendicular (just in front of Sri Mariamman) you can find some antiques gallerys. I love them. I bought to bells ( there where not very antique ... but from the 30s... but ... welll ... here I have them)

Fabric shop

When walking in China Town is Singapore, you will see a lot of shops. Among the others, shops which offer fabrics as silk... The prices are not low, of course they depend on the quality.

The sales assistants are very nice and ready for fulfilling your expectations. They can sew an evening dress for you or a business suit during few days...

What to pay: for 1 meter of a nicer, thicker silk fabric they ask about 45 Singapore Dollars

There are some good markets around China town. We bought some cheap stuff, including t-shirts and dresses. Worth a wander.
