Toa Payoh, Singapore
I always go to Toa Payoh when doing home shopping. You can find a queue of shops selling bedsheets, linens, curtains and other home essentials like bathroom mats, rugs and even tools. Prices are pretty cheap. The Town Centre is a busy hub along Central Singapore because it has department stores, supermarket, restaurants and coffee stalls. It also has shops selling new and used mobile phones and other gadgets. You can also find ladies' shoes and clothing here. It's worth the trip.
What to buy: Bedsheets! I just love them. They're like colourful candies in a candy store. Bathroom, living room and bedroom essentials are reasonably priced.
What to pay: Bedsheets are available from S$20.00 (queen), home essentials from S$2.00. There are also great deals on toiletries.
Take a train to Toa Payoh MRT Station and you can start shopping once you step out of the MRT Station.
What to buy: Clothings, shoes, mobile phones, optical shops, pharmacy can all be found. almost anything that you need.
If you are hungry try the Kofu Food Court. A lot of yummy food stall.
Walk to the Toa Payoh Library area and ask the local where is the famous Rojak stall in the nearby coffee shop.
If you would like to try cheap Japanese food, visit Bento just above Mc Donalds. it is located near the library.
If you love fish head curry, take bus 238 to Toa Payoh Lor 8 for the Ocean Fish Head Curry near the Hawker Centre.
What to pay: Things are cheap.
I do my weekend shopping here once a month.
