Once spent 8 hours in transit at Changi which just flew by. After we had an anti jet lag massage in one of the lounges ( which included a shower so we could freshen up ) we then went and spent some time at the rooftop pool which had a bar, restaurant and really comfortable sun loungers, and again you could have a shower in the changing facilities at the pool so you were refreshed for your onbound flight, just remember to pack your trunks in your hand luggage.
I also believe that if you have a stopover longer than 3 hours there is a free city tour you can take advantage of.

Changi airport has gotten bigger this year with 3 main terminals and 1 budget terminal. The 3 main terminals are connected but as they are huge, there's a lot of walking to do. Do take note that the transit hotel is only available in Terminal 1 and 2 at present.
So if you're taking the next flight out on a budget airline, you will have to retrieve your luggage and head on to the budget terminal

An Asian budget airline is Air Asia.
On certain routes,
they have some amazing prices.
Such as, from KL to Laos.
The earlier you book,
the better chance you have
to get a cheaper rate.
This is a no frills airline,
so don’t expect any blankets,
or good food,
if good food exists on any airline.
If you’re a particular healthy eater,
forget bringing your own food on board.
It is simply not allowed.
So make sure the tummy is full before hand,
or wait it out till you arrive to your destination.
Rates are also cheaper by booking on line,
rather than going directly to their office.
They do warn at check in,
not to place any valuable inside of your suitcase,
which is why I have repeatedly advised,
no matter what, put a lock on your bag.
Lost baggage does and has occurred
on some of their flights.
And I have heard through others of several complaints,
but that comes with the budget price
along with the high traffic
of flying around the world.

After being regularly subjected to the hell that is Heathrow T3, it comes as a shock to discover the delightful new T3 at Singapore Changi Airport.
The arrivals hall is out of this world - and almost deserted because they process the passengers so efficiently:
* Multiple jetways to disembark the aircraft
* No queue for immigration
* Luggage already on the carousel when you get through
* Controlled Taxi Queue
* No dodgy tour reps or taxi touts
The departure hall is just the same - spacious, quiet, clean, and with excellent facilites including the best restaurants I have seen at an airport. Brewerkz and Imperial Treasure dumpling restaurants are fab ! Also a swimming pool and cinema available if you have a long transit time !

Singapore Changi has been consistently one of the best airports in the world.
Airport Code = SIN
The old airport was Paya Lebar. Changi is built on reclaimed land and approaching the airport is over the sea and golf courses below with a spectacular city skyscrapper skyline in the near distance.
There are two major terminals and a third terminal is opening soon. So important to note whether your plane is in terminal 1 or terminal 2 which are coonected by a free skytrain.
There are plenty of shops and eateries, sports viewing televions, events, free online and local call service, swimming pool, etc to keep you occupied if you check in early or in transit. You can even sign up for a free city tour if you are in transit for more than 4 hours.
From the airport, use the taxi, bus or MRT to get to downtown. For taxis, there are various taxi surchages and so no worry of being overcharged by taxi drivers.
At departure, you can also get your GST refund.

Changi airport I will give 5 stars in accomodating their guests at the airport. You can watch live football or CNN at the sky theatre. Surf internet or play games at PS 2 stations for FREE. Shoppings for gifts and electronic items at good price. Really great airport!

Singapore's Changi Airport is a busy little port for such a small country! SIN is the major hub for Singapore Airlines, a member of the Star Alliance. It is also home to many flights for British Airways and Qantas, so there are plenty of OneWorld Alliance options as well.
Singapore as a whole is regarded as a little east meets west, so I am positive you will have no trouble navigating this airport. I have been through it several times now for business and pleasure, and each time was relatively painless!

Changi is a modern airport and is the most busiest transfer spot. We were going to enter Singapore. It's interesting to see custom staff are from various nations and the custom check was quite strict....
The baggage converying traces are low and it's convenient to take your baggages.
