    Camping: Camping ?
  • Tip Rating:
  • In most park around the island, you can reserve a spot and camp there for the night. The parks are open 24 hours and are pretty safe. I particularly like Changi Beach and Pasir Rais Park. Always lots of people and many many restaurants and bars

    Bring your tent !

    Sport facilities: Windsurfing in Singapore
  • Tip Rating:
  • singapore is quite a decent place to windsurf.
basically u got to go on a Formula board as the wind isnt that good compared to other renowned destinations. typical sail sizes is 9-12 m just to give u an idea.

however there is 2 monsoon seasons where the wind picks up to abt 12 knots.

the SW monsoon is from July-Oct & the NE monsoon is in end of Dec-Feb

the location is along east coast beach. the following 3 clubs r located at the stretch from the hawker centre(near bedok jetty) all the way up in the direction of changi.

    1)Pasta fresca sailing club
    2)People's Association Sea Sports club
    3)SAFRA sea sports club.

the second place is most frequented. basically it has storage facilities & provide courses for the beginers. if u want to store your boards, this place is the cheapest to store. boards - sing $30/mth. sail w/o boom - $5/mth.

most pple in the club have their own gear. the club rents out beginner Mistral Prodigy & Fanatic ~245Litre widestyle boards only which is usually rented by the beginners. if u want to get your own board, the club has a surf shop. u could also get used boards from members of the club thru word of mouth or club otice boards or order online.

SAFRA has 5 clubs. Mt Faber, Toa Payoh, Tampines, Yishun and Town Club.

The SAFRA Mt Faber just opened on 1 Nov. This is the within walking distance from my home and work place. You will probably find me at SAFRA Mt Faber after work!

SAFRA Mt Faber Gym has the usual treadmills, bicylecs, cross trainer, rower, various machines to tone up your body and weights session. They have jazzcuzi and steam bath for relaxation.

The swimming pool is a beauty. They have 3 section. An olympic pool, adult pool and kids pool. The pool is open to public for $3.15. Bring your own towel if you are not a gym member.

They have a bowling alley located at Level 2.

The gym provides towels. You need to bring your sports attire and shoes.

Besides gym, jogging, cycling...it's not like you will do alpine skiing or rafting in Singapore...but Sentosa Island is great for beach volleyball. Bring some friends or make some on the spot. You will have a great time playing volleyball !

    Cricket
  • Tip Rating:
  • You can watch Cricket being played in many of the parks in town on the weekend. Saturday morning I watched some of this from my room at the Conrad. Made for a nice and peaceful morning awake as I was only a couple days in the time zone.

In the attached pic you can see some of it. A great setting in the park in the middle of the city.

Tree Top Walk At MacRitchie Reservoir
  • Tip Rating:
  • This is something that's pretty new in Singapore. I have NOT try it yet unfortunately...kekek, but the url that i have attached has a good write-up abt it and also directions to get to MacRitchie Reservoir.

I am planning to go after the month of dec as it's raining season in singapore now. Will definitely update you guys ya!

But from the website it seems pretty cool. I takes about 2 - 4 hours to do the complete walk. And there are only 2 toilet stops in between.

Owning a sailboat can be very expensive here in Singapore. The maintenance could be actually keep your pocket really dry. There are a few yacht dock where you can "park" your boat or yacht. Getting a "driving" license is however quite simple. Check with MPA(Maritime Port of Authority) on how to obtain the license and training.
