On our last visit to Singapore & Sentosa Island, we missed seeing the Butterfly Park & Insect Kingdom, so this time we decided to pay a visit.

On entering the 1st section, I was surrounded by plenty of greenery and Butterflies. There was a Live Pupae house where young Butterflies were hatching, so we sat on a nearby seat, and actually saw one hatch. I really liked the Butterfly area as I kept finding new varieties. Some even landed on my husband.

The next section wasn't much, more a money making concern.....Selling have your photo taken with a Parrot. I quickly passed through here and into the next section.

Here I could learn the history of creepy-crawlies at the Insect Revolution exhibit. This is where there was a display of different Insects including Tarantula's, Scorpion's, Beetles, Rhinocerus Beetles and many others. The largest Dynastes Hercules beetle ever recorded – [160 mm] is on display here.

Last, but not least, was the excellent display of Butterflies. The collection was large and as good as I have seen anywhere.

    Admission in 2011.....S$16 / Adult
    S$10 / Child (3 - 12 years old)

    Opening Hours......9.30am - 7pm daily
    (last entry 6.30pm)

Walk in a large netted cage with trees, plants and ponds. In there you will find butterflies flying around, relaxing on the branches, and breeding. To be honest.... I expected lots and lots of butterflies flying around you. Don't get me wrong though..... there were lots of butterflies to see.

There is also a large insect exhibit will all kind of beetles from around the world on display in glassed frames.

SENTOSA - Butterfly park and Insect kingdom

This is not just a park, but also a monument built to remember thousands of insects that become extinct each day, because of the increasing urbanisation and deforestation around the world.

they have created an amazing tropical garden with lots of greens, flowers and butterflies and other insects are flying over you.
