10. If all this is too much to remember, send me a message and I'll see if I can guide you. Forget about trying to work out the trail on the "official" map:

Only about 1/3 of this secret trail is on that map. Of course it ain't all there. Otherwise it wouldn't be a secret.

3. Follow the signs to the TTW up Bukit Kalang. Go past the Ranger Station and all that stuff (about 20 min). As you walk up the road leading to the TTW (30m past the Ranger Station on the final ascent up a shady newly resurfaced road, contrast against the broken surfaces of the WW2 Japanese reservoir road), just before an old rusty gantry, look across to the left and note a grassy trail. Spot two large water pipes in a green fenced up area about 50m away. Remember it.
4. Cross the TTW. About halfway across look down and notice a grassy trail about 5m wide. Remember it. Once across to the other side of the TTW, take the stairs to the forest floor (it is cordoned off by a rope). If blocked by a security guard, then just continue until the bridge becomes a a boardwalk and jump over the railings and reverse direction.
5. Walk on the forest floor (for those with a compass it is 090° heading). Keep the bridge in sight overhead. If not you'll be hopelessly lost.
6. Walk about 3 minutes (about 80m, no risk of entanglement - there is not much growth on the forest floor) you'll emerge onto the old grassy trail about 5m wide. Look up and you'll see the bridge. It should still be directly overhead. TURN RIGHT.
7. Walk about 2 minutes on a 220°heading (about 100m) until you come to two 1m water pipes emerging from the ground and then going back into the ground (remember?). They are inside a green fence. TURN LEFT.
8. Walk about 1 minute on a 10°hdg (about 50m) back to the bottom of the slope that brought you to the TTW. You have now looped back to the bottom of Bukit Kalang.
9. Retrace your steps back to Island Club Road. You should see the fence and gate of Bukit Kalang Service Reservoir, the access road, Island Club buildings, and finally Island Club Road. Total time, less than 60 minutes.

Note the general story: a 10km hike to see a 250m bridge (of course there's other rainforest stuff).
Here's a really good pictorial journey:

Now, here's secret if you are short of time. After all, the bridge is just 250m. Why walk 10km for a 250m sight?
For the drive-in, drive-out type tourist, the bridge CAN be seen in under an hour, NO jogging or running.
1. Take a taxi up the Island Club Road all the way up into the Club grounds (this is a members only club). Note the service road on the left just before the steep slope into the car park. This is your backup plan. You are almost sure to be stopped and turned back on a weekend. Put on a thick skin and say that you are meeting your host at the new pool (it helps if you don't look like you're going on a hike). Driving this way saves about 13 minutes walking. If you are really lazy you can (not may) drive up to the gates of the Bukit Kalang Service Reservoir (not really legal because you are actually breaking a law as opposed to merely trespassing when you drive into Singapore Island Country Club grounds).
2. If you get turned back, go down the slope and alight from the taxi at the bottom. Use the small access road with a waist high barrier. You ARE legally allowed to walk on this road to the HSBC TreeTop Walk.
