The Sky Tower is Singapore’s tallest public viewing tower which offers panoramic views across Singapore, Sentosa and the Southern Islands.
The Carlsberg Sky Tower has a capacity of 72 person in its enclosed, air-conditioned cabin. It is Asia's tallest observatory tower at 135m above sea level.
Each revolving ride, takes about seven minutes. Day or night, views from the tower promise to be both scenic and breathtaking.
Admission is S$10 Adult/S$6Child. Opens 9am to 9pm.
The Sky Tower consists of a circular cabin that climbs up a pole while rotating, to allow visitors a magnificent 360 degree view of Sentosa, Singapore and even Indonesia.
The ride up and down the tower took around 15 mins in total.
At S$10 per person, it is too brief and gives you the same view if you stayed in a high rise hotel anyway so you'd be better off saving your money for other rides or attractions on Sentosa such as the Underwater World or the Images of Singapore.
Playing on the famous slogan of its sponsor, Sentosa's Carlsberg Sky Tower claims to offer "Probably The Best View of Singapore!.
The Carlsberg Sky Tower is located next to the cable car station via which many people arrive on the island of Sentosa. This is how I arrived on the island, and so the Sky Tower was the first attraction that I visited. This proved to be a good way to get an overview of the island and to get my bearings.
Visitors sit in an air-conditioned compartment, with large windows on all sides, and are transported to a height of 131 metres above sea level. The compartment constantly rotates 360 degrees as it ascends to its final height, and then rotates for around 5 minutes at the top. So, wherever you sit, you will get to admire the views in all directions.....and take plenty of photographs!
The views certainly are impressive. In one direction, you can admire the high rise buildings of Singapore city. In another direction you can admire Sentosa's sandy beaches and view a number of Malaysian and Indonesian islands a few miles out to sea.
Below, you can see the lush greenery of the island, the cable cars arriving at the island, the island's various museum buildings, restaurants and other attractions and lots of people milling around.
The Sky Tower opens daily from 9am - 9pm.
Admission to the Sky Tower was included in the price of my entrance ticket (I paid S$56.90 for a ticket which included cable car rides to and from the island and entrance to a host of attractions), but if you pay individually prices are as follows:
Adults: S$10
Kids (3-12 years old): S$6
