This is one of playgrounds for locals on weekends. This place gets quite crowded-especially sunday. Many families spend there time relaxing on the beach, while others will do some wind surfing or kite boarding.
One nice thing is to rent bicycles and go up and down the bike paths. A lot of people go roller blading.
Lots of restaurants, hawker center. There are also other family attractions. There is an awful bowling alley near the McDonalds. The pins keep falling down when they are being picked up and the balls very dirty.
A lot of people come here on weekends to eat seafood. There are a lot of seafood options that line the area.
One downside to the beach-is the large amount of tanker and container ships awaiting to get into Singapore's port. The water is clean, but not sparkling clean.

Address: along east coast parkway.
If you have some time and like walking or biking along the riverside you may want to visit the East Coast Park. It is located at the seaside and it is a long walk full of trees and a nice breeze from the sea.
During weekends is a bit packed but you can still enjoy it. You can rent roller-blades or bikes and every now and then there are some restaurants like the east Coast Hawker Centre.

You can find quite a number of exciting amenities at downtown East - From food to theme parks, to chalet. There's even a children play called eXplorerkid where your child can go wild with a child-safe exercise structure.

I enjoyed the AMerican breakfast served here.. we had pancakes, bacons, sausages different styles of cooked eggs.. toasts etc...
when we had our fill.. we took a stroll in the beach of East coast .. the ocean air is a refreshing break from the busy city.. and endless shopping..
then we rented bikes and explored the rest of the coast..
the whole area will take around 45mins to 1 hour of biking
bottled water and other sports drink is available in the area..
before we knew it .. its lunchtime once again .. and we headed for the restaurants area..
they cater to a varierty of Asian cuisine.. this time we indulged in an Indian delicacy
I enjoyed rotti cani in particular.. :D .. I also sampled the haofans from the dimsum kiosks :D
loved it!!

This is a beach built on reclaimed land, not a fantastic beac h though. However, if you are in a group and have the time to spare, you can go roller blading, cycling, BBQ or camp overnight at East Coast Park. There are also many cafes, restaurants, bowling alleys and nice beach bars around.
