This is an award winning Historical Museum that showcases the cultures and history of Singapore throughout the ages.

I fournd this museum very interesting, but my husband didn't, so two different opinions!!!!

On entering the Museum, we came to a theatre where we watched a fascinating special effects show called the "Four Winds of Singapore." This is a tribute to the national contributions of Singapore's Chinese, Eurasian, Malay and Indian populations to Singapore. I found this really interesting.

From here, we walked through the corriders following the major events of Singapore, and learning about the people. This area is in chronological order, starting in Singapore's pre-British period of Malaysian rule, British colonialism, the founding of colonial Singapore by Thomas Stamford Raffles, the Japanese occupation, and the post-colonialist era .
The displays are not only life like, but there were sounds, smells that made them seem more life like.
There was some hands on activity if you wanted. I learnt about the festivals, events and general lives of the Chinese, Malays, Indians and Peranakans that lived in Singapore.

The Images of Singapore museum is located in Imbiah Lookout, Sentosa, Singapore near the Singapore Cable Car stop at Sentosa and the Merlion

You probably need a couple of hours to look at it properly and to read about each display.

Step back into 14th century Singapore with a little help from the 21st century. Life-sized figures, rare artifacts and state-of-the-art technology give this history lesson extra ýoomphý, bringing to life the sights, sounds and smells of bygone Singapore in four distinct sections.
It was AWSOME!! Fantastic, I can't recommed it enough!!!

    Sentosa - Singapore

In Sentosa island, a museum complex, called Images of Singapore, holds three different nucleus, covering the Pioneers and Festivals of Singapore, and the decisive moments of WW2, recreated with scaled wax figures.

Easy to see, attracting both adults and children, it helps us to remember that the tragedy was not an European exclusive.

Though, in my opinion, this is the more impressive, the whole museum deserves your attention, specially if travelling with children.

At Sentosa, you will encounter several wax replicas of the founding fathers of Singapore. Also on exhibit are mannequins replicating the different street scenes (sight, sound and smell) of old Singapore - Malaysian, Muslim Chinese, Hindu ethnic quarters.

I suggest you spend the whole day at Sentosa because there are lots to see - it's a theme park, museum and nature park all in one! Number one attraction among kids is the walkator that travels down through several meters of floor to ceiling acquarium of baby sharks, eels, stingray and seacows.

My favorite is the Butterfly and Insect Kingdom - different species of winged animals were preserved and encased in glass panels.

The dancing musical fountain can only be witnessed at night and I missed that!

    Community. Family. Peace. Harmony.

Let the four historical figures of Singapore greet you at the Images of Singapore. We were amazed as these four men from different cultural backgrounds – Malay, Chinese, Indian, and British – the four founders of the nation, suddenly come to life!

Pictures, wax statues, sounds, music, and videos inside the place told us everything we need to know about Singapore . I did not only learn their history but has come to appreciate the origin of my nationality’s culture and practices, as well.

In fact, being at the Images of Singapore made me feel like a real Asian, moreover, a real Filipino.
