Guess it's been a while since a review has been written. Here is my experience from yesterday:
The ferry ride is a quick 10min trip. Costs $2.50 one-way. We arrived around 2pm and the line was a bit long...maybe 20min wait. The boats only leave when they have 12 people on board.
The bicycles are still the best way to get around, however it's gotten a bit more expensive...that or it was because of Chinese New Year. There are about 4-5 shops to the left of the ferry landing when you get there. We spoke to every one of them and prices "start at $2" for child bicycles. However there are some newer ones that can range upwards of S$18-$20.
We ended up negotiating to $10 for a decent dual suspension Raleigh. Tires were going bald, it creaked and the gears were a bit misaligned. TEST the bikes before you agree to rent.
We did the Chek Jawa, the marine park side. Make sure to check the tide times as we went during high tide and didn't see as much. Still worth the track to see the scenery. We swung around and saw the many quarries that dotted the island. Pretty cool...wish we could've dived in.
On the way back, the jetty was a massive line. A bunch of people were cutting and didn't seemed ashamed. You will need to throw a few elbows, which I was happy to do. People gave me looks, but I just stared back. The nerve of these people trying to cut and giving me dirty looks...
Certainly a good trip if you are looking to get out of the city.

Address: Pulau Ubin
Cycling is one of the few activities you can indulge in at Pulao Ubin Island. Cycles are available at S$2-3 per day and there are good roods around the island. There is no motorised traffic and hence no pollution either. A good road map is a must and this is available at the visitors centre at Pulao Ubin. This is located near the ferry point at Pulao Ubin. Hence grab one the moment you hit the island. They are free.

Address: Pulao Ubin Island
Pulao Ubin is the largest of all the island around Singapore and it has not been developed at all. In other words, it looks exactly as it looked in 1960. Private vehicles are not allowed and there is only one resort/accomodation facility offered in Pulao Ubi where people can go and stay. It can be best reached from Changi Beach Ferry terminal. The ferry ride 9or bumboat as they call it here) takes hardly 15 mts and charges S$2 Per person. Most of the visitors go there for a day. They will go there in the morning and return in the evening. There is not much to do there but the original rustic charm of a Kampong life is still maintained very well and this is what attracts hoard of visitors specially during the weekends.
