We were walking Waterloo street, when we come across a busy area of lots of people visiting this Temple, and plenty of flower sellers and Garland makers.
A recognised Historic Site...."Guan Yin Tong Temple" is another name for this Temple which was built in 1884.
It is known to bring worshipers good luck after praying to the the Goddess of Mercy, no wonder 1000's come and people were swarming around here! It is one of the major temples in the area, with most devotees visiting the temple on the 1st or 15th day of Chinese New Year.
New Year would probably be an interesting time.
Inside are divining sticks which are wooden sticks with writing on them, they are placed in a brass can and shaken. When a stick falls out, they are interpreted to tell one's future. The divination slips are in English.
I have done this before, not in this Temple, and it was surprising that some things were true!
Also known as the Goddess of Mercy temple, this temple built in 1884 is one of a series of religious buildings set on Waterloo street.
