Located in Sentosa Island, which always remodels and reinvents itself. This Underwater World is a rival of the Waterworld of Bangkok and Atoll Reef of Hongkong and Manila Oceanarium of the Philippines. In the Underwater World, you can see brightly colored fish amidst the coral life or watch seahorses anchored to plants. The rare and exotic marine mammal, the Dugong will intrigue visitors with its graceful movements. Catch a glimpse of deadly sea creatures like the Moray Eel, the Stone Fish, Lion Fish, Porcupine Fish or the Leopard Shark. Many marine species, such as the black tip and white tip sharks, eagle rays and big-belly seahorses, breed and thrive in the Underwater World. Also, there is a very large aquarium features a long walkalator-through fiberglass tank where you can experience sharks and rays swimming right over your head; especially liked the little sea dragons, relatives of the sea horse.

Old Pictures in Sentosa Island, Pulau Belakang Mati or Sentosa Island was originally a fishing village in the 1800's and when then the British then made a militay camp and a fort named siloso here as coastal battery defense of Singapore. Captured by the Japanese in 1942 and returned by the British to Singapore, today, Sentosa is an island complex with a themed attraction, tropical resort, nature park and heritage centre all rolled into one! Just minutes away from the city by cable car, ferry or road. This small 390 hectare island at the southern tip of singapore is boasting a kaleidoscope of attractions and activities.

This island has lots to offer. but what I really enjoyed the most is the songs of the sea play. It is a play using light and pyro display. you will be amazed of the misting of water and reflection of the lights come together in the sky. It will show clear image like a projector. pray that it won't rain because the shows gets cancelled because it is viewed on a open area.

I was lucky to attend one of these shows. It was amazing. So is Singapore. I stay at the Holiday Inn, Atrium. I also visited the exhibit on Buddhism (Nalanda Trail) at The Asian Civilizations Museum and loved it. Singapore is my second favourite place to be.

No wonder Sentosa Island won the theme park award in 2007. One day is not enough to tour Sentosa around. Ours for 1 day, we were just able to visit the Underwater, Dolphin and Merlion. You'll be very very busy taking pictures of almost everything because everything is great and fun

But be advised that Sentosa is a very expensive place to stay..if you are talking about budget travel that is. You can always dump your stuffs in a backpackers' hostel and then make your way to Sentosa island for the day and return to your hostel to sleep. Singapore is a city...very city. But Singapore do have some nature reserved areas which you might want to venture though (if you are into nature that is. Tree top walks at MacRitchie Reservoir (free) or even Sungei Buloh. These places are usually off the beaten path. Singapore is also rich in culture...Arab Street, Chinatown, Little India...So try googling the places I've mentioned if you are interested though.

When in Singapore... visiting Sentosa Island is a MUST!!!!! You can get on the island 4 ways... taxi, walk, bus, or the FUN way.... cable car!!!!!!
You catch a taxi to the top of the mountain, and than buy tickets for the cable car journey!! The views are spectacular!!!!!!
Once you get there, there's tonnes to do!! Go on various rides (including a sky tower where you can see views of the entire island, and out to sea). There are some other adventure rides, and a train that goes around the perimeter of the island too.... great for looking all around the place!!
There are also free shuttle buses that run along the beaches, and back and forth from the main entrance.
There are some STUNNING beaches there!!!! And even a few luxary hotels if you prefer to stay in a beach type resort!

Fort Siloso is so different from the last time I visited. There are now 3 different routes we can choose to tour the fort. It is the largest repository of World War II memorabilia. It enables us to experience what life was like for soldiers during wartime. There are also life-sized replicas, interactive exhibits. There’s also the Surrender Chambers that marks an end to the WWII.
