It is cheaper to buy Universal Studios tickets in a booth in Changi Airport in Terminal 2. The regular price for a One-Day Pass is S$74 but we got it there for only S$65. There was even a S$10 meal voucher and a S$5 Retail Voucher free! They also offer Child Passes but for Senior Passes, you need to get it from the park gate itself on the day you will go there. You have to go in early because one whole day is not enough for the family enjoyment!
Nope, one Universal Studios is not enough.
I visited Universal Studios in Osaka. I loved the place but I just have a bit reservation on the language. Marty McFly was speaking in Japanese, as is most of the attractions so wasn't able to appreciate them much.
So I had the chance to visit Singapore, and I knew, everything in Universal Studios Singapore would be in English so, yay!
Singapore's Universal Studio at Resort World Sentosa is small and compact but has no lack of fun and excitement.
You would be able to cover the whole Universal Studio rides and shows within a day. Some of the exciting rides includes BattleStar Galatica, Ancient Egypt and Transformers. BattleStar Galactica is the ultimate ride experience for the strong hearted.
Besides rides, merry-go-rounds and shows, there's the 4D ride Shrek which is very mild.
There are food court but those are pretty expensive and can set you back by about S$12 per person. However, there's a Malaysia style food court on the outside (next to the ticketing booth) that sells best of Malaysia's food choices at very economical prices. As an option, you can exit the Universal Studio with re-entry chop on your arm and have your lunch there (see last picture).
This is a really fantastic place to come spend the day with your family. It`s a theme park that has 7 Zones ,some which is from our favourite Universal Studio movie. The zones is as follows: Madagascar ,Far Far Away ,Lost World ,Ancient Egypt ,SCI-FI City ,New York and Hollywood. At every zone there is various rides ,3D or 4D entertainment and places where you can get food. You can also take photo`s of your favourite characters like Shrek and Fiona and so on. When taking pics for example with the stars of Madagascar ,the people there will take photo`s with your camera and theirs incase you want to pay for the printed copy of the photo they took with their camera.
There is no taking photo`s and video`s on the rides and some rides you`ll get wet so take care of your camera`s and electronic devices.
Interms of tickets ,it`s best to buy your tickets online as you`ll get it for a cheaper rate then paying for it at the entrance. If you got small kids it`s also a good idea to get them a stroller which is on your right hand side at the entrance as there is alot of walking they have to do so they will get tired. Things inside Universal Studio is expensive but some restaurants offer 50% discount if you come after 5pm and buy food from them again provided you brought back your slip ,not sure if this is always like this or a once off.
One of the best rides I took was Transformers the Ride. Please be aware when you enter the area to take the ride. It looks empty when you enter but don`t be fooled as the path that you have to follow is a long way before you actually get onto the ride. The queue moves fast but it`s definitely worth the wait.
For themeparks, the Universal Studios is a popular destination and found in Resorts World.
We booked the ticket online because we heard that there are limited tickets sold within the day. The tickets cost SGD66 each on an ordinary weekday. There are lots of rides you can try.
Don’t miss the Lights, Camera, Action by Spielberg! Experience the action as if you are in a actual movie shoot! No doubt Spielberg’s a history!
And if you’re into super thrilling action, try Battlestar Gallactica, the world’s tallest pair of dueling roller coaster! We didn’t dare to try that one! If we ever did, we might have been in the “Final Destination” movie of our lives. Don’t dare to try it if you have heart problem! but for a milder thrill of action, experience the ride from Shrek- King Harold's Far Far Away Castle! Also, I recommend the ride in the Jurassic Park!
There are lots of souvenir shops and restaurants inside. You can’t ask for more!
I really love taking pictures in the Revenge of the Mummy. The statues are very realistic.
I can imagine how I look like if I was an Egyptian in my past life... haha!
The transformer ride is a fantastic 3D roller coaster rides with all its twist and turns. The 3D visuals are amazing good, and it was definitely a wonderful experience!
The story goes as we sat on one of the robots, and our mission is to help the Autobots. The part I loved most about this ride, is when we were 'falling' from the building. It was exciting and mind-blowing! Absolutely love it!
I think anyone who come into the park should not miss this ride!
Universal Studios Singapore is a theme park that is located inside Resort World Sentosa on Sentosa Island, Singapore. It is the second Universal Studios theme park to open in Asia (Japan being the first), and the first in Southeast Asia.
I arrived there in the morning around 10am, and there was already a crowd outside the entrance. Apparently, this must be very popular with the locals and tourists. We entered into the park within minutes and everything was very well-organized.
This is a very interesting park and I am very impressed by the transformer ride. Despite having to wait for quite some time, I feel it is worth the wait.
Battlestar Galactica and the revenge of the mummy is a must-try ride too! Very exciting...
Overall, I am very pleased with the services of the crew as well. All of them were very warm and friendly. Definitely a must-visit place when you come to Singapore!
Newly arrived on Sentosa are the Universal Studio's.
Outside in the courtyard, was where you bought your ticket's, and where the BIG Universal Studio globe was rotating. Quite impressive with the mist that was coming out of it.
We didn't go in, no need to for us. Mid-week, and it looked quite quiet.
This is the region's first Hollywood movie theme park, which feature's 24 movie-themed rides and attractions, 18 of which are unique to Singapore. There is Shrek, 4-D adventure in the world's first Far Far Away Castle, Revenge of the Mummy, Madagascar, Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure and more.

For just SG$ 5, you can enjoy Universal Studios Sentosa from 7 to 10 pm and take photos, visit the shops and enjoy the food at the restaurants within the park. Known as Holywood After Hours, this is just perfect for those who would like to see the park for a photoshoot but are not into the exciting rides. HAH is available only during Fridays and Saturdays. You will have to check the Universal Studio website though for its availability (http://www.rwsentosa.com/language/en-US/Attractions/UniversalStudiosSingapore/VisitorInfo) since there were times that they do suspend the HAH. Tickets are sold only at the site starting at 6:30 pm. So if you would want to feel the atmosphere, have your pictures taken and more importantly, not willing to pay the regular SG$66 or SG$72 entrance fee, try out the Hollywood After Hours at Universal Studios Sentosa.
A world-class amusement park here in Asia. Features beloved movies and characters like: Battlestar Galactica, Shrek, Madagascar, Jurassic Park and old eclectic hollywood icons like Marilyn Monroe, Frankenstein and Woody Woodpecker. This is good for an entire days fun for family, children, and adults who love taking pictures, taking amusement park rides and watching shows.
1. Bring an entire change of clothing (complete with undies and socks); preferably come in shoes that can get wet.
2. Come Early. You should be outside the park at 9am so you have time to take pictures with the chocolate characters right outside the park.
3.Park opens at 10am. I would suggest that as soon as you enter, head straight to THE LOST WORLD. Don't stop to take pictures, just go straight to Jurassic Park and put your items in a locker next to the JURASSIC PARK RAPIDS ADVENTURE. You can rent the locker for the day or for a few hours. Put your stuff there IMMEDIATELY. (that means your cameras and wallets...just keep a couple of bills maybe in a zippered/secure pocket somewhere).
3. Buy a souvenir glass/tumbler. That can be your souvenir for the day plus get a $1 off from refills throughout the day at any resto. (I got the potions bottle from the LAND OF FAR FAR AWAY).
My suggestion for maximizing the park IF YOU ARRIVE AT THE OPENING TIME OF 10am (if not, good luck with the lines):
1. Upon entry, put stuff in locker and ride the Jurassic Park Rapids. You will almost surely 85% get wet.
2. Head next door to the Canopy Flyer.
3. From there, head to the REVENGE OF THE MUMMY ride.
4. Then go to the Battlestar Galactica. Pick HUMAN or CYLON or even BOTH. (then grab your gear/cameras from your locker).
5. Check showtimes, and catch the WATERWORLD show.
6. Have lunch at GOLDILOCKS (yummy fried chicken).
7. Catch the SHREK 4D show, then the DONKEY LIVE!, and ride the ENCHANTED AIRWAYS. (if you have a toddler, they might like the MAGIC POTION SPIN inside the Fairy Godmothers Juice Bar)
8. Don't forget to take pictures of the castle, the Frog King fountain, Shreks house (take a peek inside his window and go to his outhouse!).
9. Head to Madagscar... no matter how old you are, you might enjoy King Julian's Party-go-Round.
10. You can head to the CRATE ADVENTURE (really just for kids). Have your picture taken with the Madagascar gang and the giant anchor next to the ship. Don't forget to look up at the tall tree! Spot the plane and it's unfortunate pilot.
11. Head to Hollywood and take your pics with the universal studios fountain. Take a shot of the director (see if you can find him).
12. Go to LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION!!! and let Steven Spielberg entertain you. (If you're reading this and you have a companion you want to play a little trick on... when you enter, try going into DOOR 1. Then when you enter the sound stage, head for the splash zone, railing... 2nd post on the wharf... that's all I'm going to say :) )
13. Have your pics taken in New York...the taxi, the buildings...
14. Head to Sci-fi City and ride the Accelerator.
15. You now have the option to go Dino hunting in Jurassic Park...there are eggs there you can pose in and a dinosaurs skeleton head you can...err... feed
16. Then you can just take your time riding the ones you've missed. But be sure to be sitting in front of the universal studios fountain in hollywood by 830 (save your place!) so you can watch the fireworks show at 9pm.
Tada! A customized tour of Universal Studios for an entire day. You will end up walking back and forth, but with this patter/sched, you'll be able to say you maxed out your day. :) Hope it helps!
the lakeside area of Universal Studios Singapore is a favorite Photo Stop when strolling around the park since it is located at the middle of the park and has sweeping views of the other areas of the Universal Studios plus is a nice area to sit and rest after a brask walk around the theme park and more particulaly, is the scene of spectacular fire works display (called Lake Hollywood Spectaculr) every 9:30 pm during the Hollywood After Hours scene (which unofortunately we missed since we were one a tight schedule boo hooo hooo).
Hooray for Shrek!! Shrek has become soooo popular that he currently has 4 Shrek Movies under his belt and He Has his own Theme Area in Univseral Studios Singapore called Far Far Away ( a pun on the land where Shrek and Fiona Lived) and a certified cash register for dreamworks (thank you Speilberg) and the Main Attraction here is what else but the Shrek 4-D adventure (sadly still based on shrek's first movie but I want Rumpelstiltskin to be the villain to make it current) the Shrek 4-D adventure is located in the Big Castle. Again, the area consists of many recognizable locations from the film series such as Shrek's swamp house as well as Far Far Away's glamorous Romeo Drive which contains the nightspots of the town such as Hook's Knight Club. The highlight of the Far Far Away area is the 40-metre tall Far Far Away Castle. Other ride include Donkey Live, Enchanted Airways and Magic Potion Spin.
the Madagascar Area which is obviously patterned after the animation hit of Madagascar by Dreamworks and the Madagascar Area was inspired by the hit DreamWorks Animation franchise of the same name which features four zoo animals, Alex, Gloria, Marty and Melman escaping from the Central Park Zoo and unfortunately crashing onto the island of Madagascar and their story will be told via the big Boat with a crate ride Called Madagascar: A Crate Adventure that opened last May 16 but unfortunately I haven't rode it since I was here last april when it wasn still closed. Beside the other souvenir shops and the Dining Joint, Madagascar Area has another ride called King Julien's Beach Party-Go-Round where there was a long line of young kids.
If you are living in a Rock, you would not know that the Lost World Area of Universal Studios Singapore was patterned after the Highly Successful Movie Series of the Jurrassic Park (thank you Michael Crichton) and altough water world in Universal Studios Singapore in included in the lost world area, I made separate tips for it ok. Again a refresher, Jurassic Park, based on the popular film franchise by Steven Spielberg and novels by Michael Crichton, features the newly redesigned Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure which is based on the popular water rides in other Universal Studios parks but the version here uses the round type of bump boat instead of the long boat so that you will be surprised when you are hurled down 40 feet below at the ending. Other Rides here in Lost World Include Canopy Flyer, Amber Rock Climb and Dino-Soarin'. The largest food court of the Universal Studios called Discovery Food Court is located in this area (pls see my separate Discovery Food Court Restaurant tips).
my favorite part of universal studios due to the Mariner hehehe. I don't know why waterworld was included in the Lost World Area here in Universal Studios Singapore since the Waterworld is a separate area in other Universal Studios still if all of you watched the Infamous Water World of Kevin Costner in 1995 (it was one of the biggest budgeted movies but was a monumental movie flap) the Movie was reincarnated into a Popular Attraction at Universal Studios Everywhere. The Waterworld story starts after the events of the movie, beginning with Helen's return from "Dryland" to get her friends from the "Atoll", and includes the characters Helen, the Deacon, and the Mariner as well as several "Atollers" and "Smokers". The show is 16 minutes long and includes stunts on water, land, and overhead, supported by many pyrotechnic, flame, water, and other special effects, including the explosive crash landing of the seaplane but beware as you might get soaking wet here if you sit at the soak zones hehehe.
