The Sentosa Monorail is the chief way of transport of the island Sentosa in Singapore. This monorail was inaugurated in the year 1982. The Monorail Uses 14 cars which run in the unidirectional way on single loop covering important destinations of the island. The advantage of the monorail is that the tourists can avail the transport as many times they want while staying in Sentosa. There are seven stations covering the various parts of the island. Unfotunately it was closed since 2005 to pave way to the New Sentosa Express but unfortunately I did not have time to ride this new monorail. The single-day Sentosa Pass costing S$3 allows island entry and unlimited rides on the Sentosa Express.

To get Sentosa-the best and cheapest way is to take the MRT to Harbourfront station. From there you connect to the new Vivo City shopping mall. On the third floor, one can catch the new Singapore monorail. They sell return tickets for a few bucks. As of now, there are two stops. The last one is for Siloso or Palawan beach. This new monorail is great and makes getting to sentosa much easier. Now i may go back. Can get a bit crowded leaving sentosa at night. There is handicapped access, so it's fine for the disabled or for prams.
Otherwise, from the Harborfront station you can connect to the World Trade Center and take the cable car.
If you drive in or take taxi, you have to pay an admission fee to the island.

Monorail is transportation, but also a kind of exciting game. To take monorail, there are tips: 1) one looks at coming chair
2) let your bottom sit on yellow spot
3) have security bar between your legs.
My feet were hung in air and I was really afraid. How to relax yourself? Please release your feet top down. It must help a lot.

I think the Monorails were quite regular, every half an hour, but they were the most convenient way to get around Sentosa Island. It stopped at all the main tourist spots and was just generally a good mode of transport!

One best thing about Sentosa is that you can get around the island for free. By monorail, you can check out the main spots around the island. There are 6 stops: Ferry Terminal, Underwater World / Siloso Beach, Cable car, Visitor Arrival Centre, Ficus and Palawan Beach.
Its probably a good idea to get on a monorail and see the overview of the island first then you plan your trip around the island.

This is like the tube but above ground!
It will be your means of transport around Sentosa Island, travelling to all of the attractions here.
I think that the price of this was included in our funicular price (if wrong someone correct me and I will change it!)*
