When you have at least an hour transit to spend in Changi Airport, spend some time in Orchid Garden. The most beautiful place in Changi International Airport. It will be located in Terminal 2, level 2, facing the way to gates F50-F60, in front of Pacific Coffee Company and Cedele. You can reach terminal 2 from terminal 1 easily with the sky train along with your trolley(s).The view will be breathtaking. Many beautiful orchids will be there and you may see the Oki Fish (like Golden Fish) in the 2 pools inside the garden. There will be many seats inside the garden itself and all around the garden. Check out the pictures!! You will never regret on spending your time in there alone while waiting for your flight.

When you have to transit in Changi International Airport, Singapore, for few hours or one night, take Changi Express magazine with you. You may find this fortnightly magazine everywhere around the airport, as it is the Singapore Changi Airport`s guide and it is free!!!When you have one night to spend in the airport, explore the airport by yourself, especially when you miss free city tour (it will be closed at 5PM). My favourite thing to explore will be the airport`s gardens. There are 6 gardens in the airport, and the most beautiful one for me will be orchid garden (see my other tip). You can go to terminal 1/2 with the sky train even with the trolley too. Just get one changi express, look for the airport map at the back, ask where you are to the airport staff, and explore the airport by yourself. You will enjoy!!

A quick and cheap way of getting from the airport to the city is by using the MRT.
You can catch the MRT from the station at Terminal 2 (free Skytrains operate between Terminal 1 and 2).
Cost of a ticket to the city costs about $2 (December 2006 price) (which includes a $1 deposit which can be refunded within 30 days of travel from any MRT ticket machine).

Singapore's Changi Airport is a busy little port for such a small country! SIN is the major hub for Singapore Airlines, a member of the Star Alliance. It is also home to many flights for British Airways and Qantas, so there are plenty of OneWorld Alliance options as well.
Singapore as a whole is regarded as a little east meets west, so I am positive you will have no trouble navigating this airport. I have been through it several times now for business and pleasure, and each time was relatively painless!

Changi is a modern airport and is the most busiest transfer spot. We were going to enter Singapore. It's interesting to see custom staff are from various nations and the custom check was quite strict....
The baggage converying traces are low and it's convenient to take your baggages.

Budget Terminal in Changi Airport is not as big as the main terminal. They use this terminal for cheap flights from other countries. Cebu Pacific from the Philippines is one of them. It's still very nice and clean. You can roam around their duty free shops and use the free internet provided by the airport. You can also have a quick bite while waiting for your flight.

We board Cebu Pacific on our round trip to Singapore from the Philippines. Cebu Pacific offers cheap fares around USD30 excluding the taxes and airport fees. It's a special fare not offered the whole year round. Just register your email address to get info on their promos. Log in to their website www.cebupacificair.com.

Singapore Changi Airport provides a very convenient shuttle service from the main terminal to the budget terminal. And best of all it's free. We really enjoyed the ride.
Getting to the airport is so easy. No need to pay extra for a hotel pick up to the airport. Just take the MRT to the airport and shuttle service if you're going to the budget terminal. It's that simple and quick.

I think I know an important number of airports, maybe not so many in Asia and the USA, but I'm pretty suire Changi is hardly overcome by any one else. So many things to do, so many details making the passenger visit worth the time one is spending, so many beautiful shops, so many free Internet access (why is that in Europe those are disappeared??? Don't tell me it's because of "security" reason because that would also apply to so many other places), so peaceful arrangements, so many great ideas as the outside cactus and sunflower gardens....

Opinions are divided, with some preferring Hong Kong's airport to Changi, but I must say I've never been to a better airport than Changi. Short walking distances to the gates, plenty of seating areas, food&beverage outlets on every corner with a large variety are the main selling points for this airport.
Adding to this, the efficieny of the airport, you can be in a cab to town within thirty minutes of disembarkation from your aircraft. Customs are quick and baggage service is incredible; your luggage is usually on the belt before you pass customs. Free internet&gaming services in the departure hall only add to the high service level.
There's a great transit hotel where you can sleep, get a massage or freshen up with a nice shower, or, if you'd like, you can take a dip in the rooftop pool. And if you're into shopping, there's plenty of shops to keep you occupied.
Changi has it all!
