Learn or skate with Skateline!

by kelnsha

You can learn to rollerblade or in-line skate at East Coast Park or Bishan Park in Singapore! If you know how to skate, then head down to one of the parks yourself or join Skateline for the many activities they have. It is best to wear all your protective gears like safety helmet, wrist, elbow and knee guards other than your skates.

Beaches & seaside areas

There are various beach areas in Singapore e.g. Changi beach, East Coast beach, Sembawang beach where you have enjoy and have some water sports. There are many facilities along the beaches, but usually they will get very crowded during weekends and public holidays.

Beach Volleyball

by bkoon

A very popular beach activity among the younger crowd is beach volleyball. Playing beach volleyball in sunny Sentosa is considered hip and cool here. Girls will be in their bikinis while the guys will show off their bods. If you are not keen in beach volleyball, sun-bathing is great at Sentosa too.

Hiking in Singapore: Sungei Buloh

by bpacker

While most people think we Singaporeans live in an urban jungle. They might be right. We live in an urban city and next to our city is still pretty much a jungle! Pockets of original greenery still occupy our little island. And in some pockets, you can still see swamps, monitor lizards, snakes, etc. Sungei Buloh is a beautiful wetland reserve in the northern end of Singapore. Though a tad far, it's worth taking a hike in this beautiful place as you can see all sorts of plants and animals over here. The main draw here is the wooden stilt structures that weave through the mangroves. Walk on one and hear the call of cicadas while you look at strange -looking mudskippers hop around.Opening Hours: 7.30am to 7.00pm on weekdays7.00am to 7.00pm on Sundays & Public Holidays Admission: Free entryexcept on Saturdays, Sundays, Public Holidays and School Holidays.$1.00 per adult $0.50 per child /...

Hiking in Singapore : MacRitchie Reservoir

by bpacker

If you're feeling fit and fine, go on a hike and be Tarzen for a day in Singapore. Instead of swinging on the vines, you get to walk from tree to tree. Strange though it may seem in urban Singapore, hiking is an available sports option over here! I'm not joking, we have gorgeous rainforests within city limits and lots of easy-to-do trails that are well-maintained by a government agency (Nparks). One of my favourite trails is a 10.3km hike into MacRitchie Reservoir. The trek includes a scenic walk along the water body, a short trespass into the golf course in the Singapore Island Country Club and an uphill climb to Bukit Peirce. Woo-hoo, is that adventurous and strenuous enough for you? If not, the adventure continues with the longest free-standing suspension bridge found in S'pore. The bridge connects 2 highest points in MacRitchie ( Bukit Peirce to Bukit Kalang ) so you'll get a bird’s...

Good camping sites in Singapore

by victorwkf

In my opinion, the good camping sites in Singapore are along the various beaches where you can experience the sea breeze and beautiful surroundings. Also, there are lots of facilities including toilets, washing area, food stores etc which makes it very convenient. I think the best camping sites in Singapore are Changi Beach Park, East Coast Park and Sembawang Park.

Roller Bladding

by victorwkf

If you like roller bladding, then East Coast Park will be a good place for you to do it. There are long stretches of paths for you to roller blade amidst the beautiful tropical beach surroundings, and there will be a lot of people doing roller bladding, cycling, jogging etc as well. This place even have the first McDonalds in the word where there is a counter for roller bladers to buy their food !
