In December 2009, there was a christmas tree decoration charity event held at the Botanic Gardens. There were many colourful and beautiful christmas trees on display when I visited, and I would like to share the memories with you here, as well as at the travelogue section of this VT page.
Hope you enjoy the photographs of the christmas trees and surroundings!
Favorite thing: One of my favourite past time is photography, and the Singapore Botanic Garden offers a lot of opportunities for it due to the beautiful landscape, trees, flowers, lakes etc. If you like nature and photography, then this is the place for you in Singapore.
Favorite thing: There are many benches and resting pointd, as well as pavillions in the Singapore Botanic Gardens for you to sit and relax. On a dry day, you can even sit on the grass near the lakes and enjoy the beautiful surroundings there :)
Favorite thing: Water plays a very important part in the Singapore Botanic Gardens. Besides the various lakes and ponds, you will find waterfalls and streams throughout the gardens especially in the main areas in the centre of the park.
Favorite thing: One of the main attraction of the Singapore Botanic Gardens must be the beautiful and colourful flowers which grow in the tropical region, examples are the Bird of Paradise Flower, Orchid flower, bougainvilla flower, frangipani flower, lilies etc. Do take your time and enjoy the rich diversity of flora here. More photos of the orchid flowers are at the travelogue section of this VT page.
Favorite thing: You can see beautiful water lilies and lotus plants at the various small ponds and lakes at the Singapore Botanic Gardens. These water plants thrive on the tropical weather and grow very well on the relatively still waters here.
Favorite thing: There are black swans at the Eco Lake of the Singapore Botanic Gardens near to the Bukit Timah Road area. These black swans are not shy and sometimes they will approach humans, this is interesting but do be careful :)
Favorite thing: When you are walking on some of the paths in the Singapore Botanic Gardens, you will notice that there are many beautiful patterns of leaves. I think this is a very nice and refreshing concept :)
Favorite thing: One of the favourite things to do is to feed the fishes and terrapins in the lakes of the Singapore Botanic Gardens. There are many colourful koi fishes, tilapia fishes and terrapins in the lakes.
