There are 2 huge hawker food centres at Tanglin Halt which sell all kinds of delicious local food and drinks. The signboards are in English and the locals can communicate in English very well, so you should come and try out the good and experience life in an old residential area of Singapore. Food are cheap and should cost less than US$4 per meal.
