Favorite thing: The Fairfield Methodist Church is quite an old church located along Maxwell Road next to the Murray Terrace Food Alley and just across the road to the Maxwell Food Centre and URA Centre. More information is at http://www.fairfieldmc.org/
Favorite thing: If you are at the Duxton Hill area, there is a large information board near to the carpark which has a map of the area, as well as information on the history of the area including the various historical buildings.
Favorite thing: If you are at the Tanjong Pagar Plaza area, you can visit the impressive Phoo Thor Jee Temple & Vanda Miss Joachim Park. These attractions are located along Yan Kit Road just behind the Tanjong Pagar Plaza, another attraction in this area is the old Yan Kit Swimming Complex.
The Seng Wong Beo Temple is a famous temple located along Peck Seah Street, just behind Amara Hotel and near to the Tanjong Pagar MRT (sub-way) station.
This area used to house many old residential houses, but all of them have been demolished except for this temple. Recently, a big condominium project called the Icon has been built next to the temple (the old and new existing side-by-side).
Fondest memory: There is a small Orchid garden at the junction of Tanjong Pagar Road and Craig Road, just next to block 7 of the HDB housing estate of Tanjong Pagar. This is a good place to rest and relax while exploring the Tanjong Pagar area.
Favorite thing: The Maxwell House is located along Maxwell Road, just across the road to the URA Building and Maxwell Food Court. There are some shops inside the building for you to do some simple shopping, the Murray Terrace Food Alley is just next to Maxwell House (there is a row of restaurants and eating outlets here).
The URA Centre and MND Complex are two huge and tall government buildings located along Maxwell Road. These buildings have been there for many years now, and there are several good food centres near the buildings, namely:
- Maxwell Food Centre
- Amoy Street Food Centre
- Murray Terrace Food Alley
