Nite Safari

by shinobu

The night zoo is a wonderful experience. You see all the animals in dim light that approximates moonlight. They don't allow flash, so pictures might not come out that well, but you are really close to the animals. In some cases (deer, bats) they have to ask you please not to touch them! The tram is very expensive ($8/person), but you have to take it because at least half of the exhibits are only visible from the tram. Some people complain about the "intrusive narration" on the tram, but I thought the guide was extremely helpful in spotting animals and showing us where to look. There is a live guide on every tram, and they run every 5 minutes. Be aware that the next to the last seat is high because it sits over the rear wheels, so avoid the seat behind it (the last seat) - it is low and you can't see as well. Don't miss the bathrooms in the restaurant area - they are spectacular!

Zoo, Birdpark, Night Safari

For those who are planning to go to the Singapore Zoo , Jurong Bird Park, Night Safari, do note that you can save on entrance fees by buying a pass called "Park Hoppers Special".This pass covers admission to 2 or 3 of these attractions. It's cheaper than buying admission tickets to the attractions separately. Buy this pass at any of the attractions.Check outhttp://www.zoo.com.sg/visitor/rates.htmhttp://www.birdpark.com.sg/visitorinfo/index.htmhttp://www.nightsafari.com.sg/visitor/rates.htm

The Singapore Zoo. Just like any other zoo I guess. Should go and check it out, its worth the trip. Just make sure to bring alot of water. Dont forget the Night safari. Thats even better, but dont wear yourself out during the day zoo like I did. Singapore Zoo closes around 6pm and the night zoo opens 730 I beleive. Cost is $25 sing for adult for both zoos. Located at the junction of Coleman Street and Armenian Street. This museum took me back to the history through stamps. All exhibits gave me a lot of resources and fun. Opening hour:Monday : 1 pm - 7 pmTuesday to Sunday : 9 am - 7 pmAdmission:$3.00 for Adults $2.00 for child (3-12 years)

When you visit Singapore Zoo, make sure you go across the road to the Jurong Bird Park. I recommend you buy the Park Hoppers Special, as both places are worth seeing.Shows run all day, everyday, weather permitting. Birds actually land on you and eat from your hands, a great experience!Open everyday 9.00am - 6.00pmAdmission - Adults $14.00, children $7.00 Panorail Ride - $4.00 $2.00 Disabled - Complimentary Admission PARK HOPPERS SPECIAL (Admission Only) BirdPark + Zoo - Adults $20.00, children $10.00 BirdPark + Night Safari - Adults $25.00, children $12.50 BirdPark + Zoo + Night Safari - Adults $30.00, children $15.00 Take the MRT to Boon Lay Station and transfer to SBS number 194 or 251 at the Boon Lay Bus Interchange.

Fort Canning Park in the city

by picknick

Fort Canning is the most historic part of Singapore. Malay and Chinese historical records point to this hill as the centre of a kingdom that arose around AD1300. The royal palace of ancient Malay rulers probably stood on the summit of this once "Forbidden Hill". Begin your 14th century walk near the Keramat Iskandar Syah.

HSBC Treetop Walk

by picknick

The HSBC TreeTop Walk (HSBC TTW) is the highlight of several long hiking routes in MacRitchie that brings you through different stages of mature secondary forest. The first of its kind in Singapore and in the region, this free-standing suspension bridge connects the two highest points (Bukit Peirce and Bukit Kalang) in MacRitchie and offers a bird’s eye view of the community of plants and animals that live in the forest canopy. The total length of the walkway is about 250m and its height from the forest floor varies, with the highest point at 25m.

Singapore River and Boat Quay

by picknick

Boat Quay Boat Quay which is located in the Business district is very well patronised by Singaporeans, Foreigners working in Singapore and a must see place for all Visitors.Just 40 years ago, this dockside area was dirty and the water so black it could be used as ink. Today it has been transformed into a Food and Entertainment Hub where one can sit by the riverside and not smell anything obnoxious.
