by Jenny_Peh The most accessible and convenience way of getting to and from Singapore is by airplane. The most preferred airlines by most Singaporeans and tourists would no doubt be SIA. Travelers participating in a survey conducted by the International Air Travel Association (IATA) voted Singapore Changi Airport as the 'Best Airport Worldwide' and 'Best Airport Asia Pacific' in the over 25 million passengers airport category. The two awards, which were received in Copenhagen, Denmark on 15 June 2000, bring to eight the total number of awards received this year. Singapore Changi Airport also received the 'Best Long Haul Overseas Airport' Award in the inaugural survey conducted by Selling Long-Haul, a UK-based magazine Singapore is easily accessible because of its diverse transportation network. You can easily get from one point to the other by bus with a transit link card which can also be use on the MRT. The rates for buses is from $0.60 to $1.20 for non-airconditioned buses, $0.70 to $1.50 for airconditioned buses.Clean punctual and air-conditioned, the MRT is a hallmark of efficiency. The MRT fares for adults is $14.90, children is $9.90 per day (unlimited rides). Over 15000 air-conditioned cabs offered comfortable hassle-free travel at a very reasonable cost. They can be flagged down 24 hours a day on most roads, with well-mark taxis-stands available outside most major shopping centers and hotels. Leave a Comment Theme: Train

It's really easy to get around Singapore. The best way is by subway, but even the buses are great. If you like to walk that's also possible if you live close to Orchard Road or Beach Road. I preferred to walk at night and take the bus or subway when the sun is up. Leave a Comment Theme: Train

by Adriani It is very easy to get around Singapore. The cab drivers here are generally honest and it doesn't cost much to ride on a cab here. You must also try the river taxi here. You will get a chance to 'cruise' inexpensively along the Singapore River at an unbeatable price of only approx. 70 cents! (For more details on how the river taxi looks like, please check the photo below). Theme: Ship/Boat

It depends. Use the MRT for long distances. It is very cheap especially coming from the airport. Travelling inside the city, use the taxis. Good, honest and cheap. Leave a Comment Theme: Train

Arrive by land through Malaysia or, as I did, directly with Singapore Airlines from Paris. Take the Bus No 36 downtown for S $ 1.50. Once in Singapore, buy directly a rechargeable MRT ticket for Metro and Bus. (The Metro is the most perfect one I have ever seen.) For the METRO the amount due is charged automatically, while for the buses you must press the amount when entering the card into the machine. The amounts are published at every bus stop. The amount not used will be reimbursed. Leave a Comment Theme: Train

by Bjorgvin The best way to get around town is on the underground rail system (MRT), operating from 6:00 am until midnight, with trains every three to five minutes. Car traffic is somewhat limited in the central business district, a ruling that also applies to taxis. Theme: Train

by Bjorgvin Changi Airport, one of the most efficient in the world, is at the eastern end of the island 19km from the city centre. A shuttle bus leaves the airport every twenty minutes from 6:00 am until midnight stopping at all the major hotels in the city centre. Theme: Train

by london.gal If you're coming from anywhere else in the world, I suggest you take a plane. When you arrive at the Singapore Changi International Airport, do you realise that you are actually stepping foot onto a piece of legend? This airport has been named consecutively and countless of times (too) - the World's Number One Airport while its national carrier - Singapore Airlines have been named the No. 1 airline in the world consecutively for several years now. And frankly, I've actually lost count of it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The other airport that caught my eye and will most certainly give Changi Airport a run for its money is - Schipol Airport in Amsterdam! Changi International Airport. Those who are travelling from Malaysia can choose ground transport. There are buses and trains connecting major cities from Malaysia to Singapore. Singapore has got a very good transportation system known as the MRT. It's one of the fastest and cheapest way to get around in Singapore. The maximum charges is just less than SGD 2. You don't even need a car if you're living here! Leave a Comment Theme: Airplane
