 | Singapore Transportation | Tips 531 - 540 of 635 | | Local transportation is efficient, comfortable and reasonably priced. For getting around town, there's the MRT, buses, taxis or if you prefer, rent a car and do it yourself!(yah, why not?.. if you have a driver license.) For an interesting view of Singapore, especially around the tourist attractions, get on a TRISHAW and Pedal Down Memory Lane! They are not the real thing any more, but riding on one can give you a taste of the old Singapore. Most trishaws now operate mainly for tourists.(You see.... even Singaporeans don't get this chance....So aren't you honoured to be a tourist?) Popular trips by trishaw take visitors to Little India, Chinatown or the area around City Hall, known as the Civic District. You can find the trishaws near the National Library and around Raffles City. Trishaw rides cost about S$20 per person, and it is advisable to settle on a price before experiencing pedal power. Best way to go to Singapore or to leave Singapore is with Singapore Airline !!! You must see Changi Airport, a beautifull Airport. Take a Airport Bus from Airport to Downtown. Buy a ticket in the Arrivall Hall (10 S$) and tell the Driver, where do you want to go. The MRT is excellent and cheap. To explore Singapore by public buses all day (unlimited travel), purchase the Singapore Explorer Ticket (5 S$ for one day or 12 S$ for three day-ticket) fom major hotels, orchar Road and Somerset MRT station Leave a Comment Theme: Train

by air of course! or if you are in malaysia, can hitch bus 190 across the causeway to singapore from johor bahru the M-R-T which is the local subway system very convenient and if you can spare the tiem, you could take a long ride from one end of the train line to the other end.. brings you into the suburbs and the heartlands of singapore where most of us live, as well as to the city and it will take max 2 hours? yup singapore is THAT big Leave a Comment Theme: Other

Many airlines fly to singapores Changi Airport. Which is a beaituful 2 terminal airport, once voted worlds best airport. Of what i know many and most airlines travel to Changi airport, it is singapores only international airport and the service there is fantastic. The size of Singapore makes visiting the country very easy and convenient. What adds to this is the very reliable transport system, which is not only safe but very frequent. The MRT( mass rapid transport) is perhaps the most convenient way to travel around singapore. it has stops at every part of singapore and is relatively cheap. At S$3.00 u can get from one side of singapore to the other, which means getting anywhere in between is much cheaper. plus most of its stations have a shopping mall located either within or closeby. Unlike some railway systems around the world, singapores MRT is as safe as it gets, the interior is clean well lit and air conditioned. all stations are also well lit, and equipped with cameras. Other wise is u cant brave the heat, or simply u want a less trouble free way of getting from A to B, catch a taxi. They are all over the place so dont be afriad that you will miss one. Once again taxis in singapore r relatively cheap. To give u a fair idea, it costs approximately S$27 to get from one side to the other. There are a few types pf taxis in singapore. But you only need to worry about the Whites taxis, which i dont know why but are abit more expensive. And also the Mercedes Benz taxis which are also abit more expensive. The bus service is perhaps abit more compliacted, they go by numbers which means u have to sort of know them. Maybe not the best of ways to travel if its ur first time. Or else u can walk, which is highly recommendable in the city, but elsewhere hop on a mrt or a cab, because if u cant handle the extreme humidity there, youll be soaked in sweat! =) In singapore there is so much to see and do, for tourists or first time goers utilise the public transport, its also a great way to see the country while egtting from A to B. Anyone travelling in Singapore would it very accessible and convient. You can take many different mode of transports while travelling in Singapore.Passengers can travel on bus, taxi and MRT. Tibs INTRODUCES SINGAPORE'S FIRST NIGHT SERVICE Night revellers such as cinema and pub goers, those Who bowl and party or simply hang around town till the wee hours of the Morning now have another form of transportation to take. Currently, Singapore's public transport services terminate at around midnight with last trips on most bus and train services scheduled to depart at or near this time. In an unprecedented initiative, Trans-Island Bus Services Ltd (Tibs) will introduce a special night service to provide another transport option for those who stay out late and who otherwise would only have the taxi as their mode of transport if they do not own a car or do not wish to drive. This service will be on trial for three months. Tibs' night service termed the NightRider, is Singapore's first night service and will be a welcome option for night revellers and even some night shift workers. The NightRider will provide a safe and affordable travel option to a broad range of potential users. Leave a Comment Theme: Bus

Nothing could be easier than getting around in Singapore. Transport on the whole is relatively cheap, reliable and convenient. First we have the Mass Rapid Transit an underground railway commonly known as MRT. Next, we have the Bus Services provided by two major bus companies; Singapore Bus Services and Trans Island Bus Services. When boarding the bus or MRT passengers should have the correct change to purchase a ticket or use one of the Transit Link Farecards which can be purchased at any bus interchanges or MRT stations. Taxis are also easily available, there are few taxis companies in Singapore. All taxis use meters which charges from $2.40 onwards the following charges will be vary according to the location and time of the journey. If you are concerned or alarmed by the meter charge you can easily ask our friendly drivers to explain the various charges. Leave a Comment Theme: Train

The local buses are reliable, on time and quick. You must travel on the Gondola over to Sentosa Island which affords a beautiful view of the city, albeit smog covered most of the time, and plays useful information in 8 languages (my friend Tim didn't find the same amusement in changing this to Arabic some 10 times as I did). Fly into our sunny island via air...major airlines have at least a flight to n fro. As long as you have Singapore Airlines flying to your country u should be able to get to this beautiful city. The buses and trains are the most reliable one can ever find. Buses ply along most roads in Singapore with a waiting period of no more than 25 mins during off peak hours. The frequency of trains are about 3 mins!!! Tell me can any other country beat this!!! For party animals, if u enjoy drinking to the wee hours of the morning but worry about getting back...fear no more cos' we hv taxi n buses (yes even buses) plying to street to take u home. Cost...as low as US$1 for a bus ride back to your hotel..Tell me where else can u get this.... Leave a Comment Theme: Other
