For the month I was working on Jurong Island, Tony Goh drove me and my coworkers to work and back every day. He was always early, very dependable. He also was friendly and gave us information on culture, history, and current events. He's a safe driver and his maxicab fits 6 people. An example of his prices are $S35 from the Marriott Orchard Rd hotel to the Changi airport. He does sightseeing tours as well.

I'm not sure where you'll be coming. But from Bras Basah Rd/Raffles Hotel area, you can take Bus No 106/133 and alight in front of the Seating Gallery. Walk back to the youth olympic park connected to the Helix bridge. You may also take the MRT Circle Line. Get off at Promenade station and just follow the directions for exit to MBS.
Lots of people choose to travel from Singapore to Malaysia (and back) on the bus. The buses are cheap, and very comfortable, and of course cater to different budgets and schedules. There are buses that a larger (cheaper) or small for executive travel. Usually you also get a complimentary packed snack and bottled water. Taking the day bus also allows you to much some of the sights along the way. The journey to KL takes about 5 hours. The highways are modern and good. Although drivers tend to speed at night. There are a number of different companies offering this service and start their journeys from various parts of Singapore -- so chances are you will find one that is close to you. Rather than list individual companies, here is a website that lists a number of them, locations, types of buses and contact details.http://www.journeymalaysia.com/ptasingkl.htm
.Singapore Budget Terminal services had improved alot since the first time I had used it.Now it has shops / food outlets / internet kiosks and many more then when it first started. Back then, there's nothing after entering the departure area.

After several hours of walking the city streets, I seem to have acquired the magical powers of Alex Mack - the ability to turn myself into water. I opt to escape the heat and utilize Singapore's extensive public transport system, known as the MRT (Mass Rapid Transport). Although I have no sense of direction, I find the MRT to be idiot-proof, if a little overcrowded. Perhaps most importantly, is it's cheap too! Singapore can feel frightfully expensive after spending time in surrounding SE Asian countries. While nobody is employed to push and cram people into the carriages, the comparisons to the Tokyo Metro system are highlighted when I leave the Bugis station to find a Mos Burger franchise. I'm reminded of Tom Green's subway monkey hour, and search the menu without luck for the infamous 'ashtray burger.'Check out the rest of my Singapore blog post ->...

The Singapore Cable Car is the aerial link between Mount Faber on Singapore mainland and Sentosa Island. The idea of a cable-car system to link Singapore and Sentosa came as early as 1968. The S$5.8 million project began in 1972, and the cable-car opened to the public on 15 February 1974. The system ply’s between the Jewel Box Station on Mount Faber, 93 meters above sea level, and Sentosa Station, 47 meters above sea level. In between these two "terminals" is the Harbour Front Station, 69 meters above sea level. In addition, there are two supporting towers which are each 80 meters in height. The total distance between Mount Faber and Sentosa station is 1650 meters. If you're lucky, you might pass over a luxury cruise ship, like we did, meaning you can take a peak on the top deck.Prices as of March 2009:1-way S$9.00, 2-way S$9.50.Operates between 8.30am and 11pm daily.Take the MRT to...

The MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) and LRT (Light Rail Transit) are trains that are the main trunk of Singapore's transit system. They are a cheap and very reliable mode of transportation, and the network covers most points of interest for the visitor. Single-trip tickets cost from S$0.80 to S$2.00 plus a S$1.00 refundable deposit, just insert your used ticket into machine to get your dollar back. EZ-link cards are the easiest and most popular way to use the MRT. All lines are integrated, so you do not need to buy a new ticket to transfer. The MRT stations are clean and usually equipped with free toilets. Underground stations have platform doors between the train and the platform so there is no risk of falling onto the tracks. The North-East line is fully automated, as is the new Circle Line and all upcoming lines, so it's worth walking up to the front of the train to look out a tiny window and...

If you're coming by bus from Melaka, odds are you'll arrive at the Lavender Street Bus Terminal. We took a bus from the shiny new Melaka Sentral bus terminal on a Transnasional bus which cost RM22. The Lavender Street Bus Terminal is about 500m north of the Lavender MRT station which we took the short hop to Bugis from. There's an ATM at the station in case you need to get some Singapore $. Here's some bus times from Melaka:Singapore: Departs hourly 8:00 – 19:00. Costs RM22 and takes 4.5 hours

MRT is the most popular transportation for commuters that span around Singapore. It is the second-oldest metro system in Southeast Asia, after Manila( Philippine) LRT System. It goes around Singapore so if you want to see the whole of Singapore then have a ride. They have this red - north south line( Jurong east to Marina bay), purple - north east line ( Harbour front - Punggol), green- east west line (Pasir Ris- Joo kon and Tanah Merah to Changi). The newest is the yellow- circle line( Dhouby gaut to marymount) but I think still under construction. This lines are interconnected on some station and map of stations are everywhere so don't forget to check it out or you will be lost :)The good part is, most of the stations are connected to malls, kiosks, retail shops and convenience stores but food is not allowed inside the train.Ticketing machines can sell tickets for single journey(...
