The MRT For quick Train Travel

by Mikebb

The Singapore MRT trains will quickly get you around the city and other places throughout the island. There is a service line to Changi international airport. We used the MRT every day during our 8 day holiday and found it to be a very efficient and low cost method of travel. No need to run for a train, if you miss your connection we found the wait was usually 4 minutes. After a few days we realised how small (in distance) Singapore is , particularly when the train service involves a interchange connection. Often it is faster to walk and in so doing you see more of the city. During the wet season always take the train.

Taxi's

by Cathy&Gary

There are over 30,000 taxi's in Singapore and the fares are quite cheap. All taxis are air conditioned and can be flagged down 24 hours a day, they also must use their meters otherwise they are up for a $500 fine!.There are numerous taxi stands outside shopping centres and hotels so you will never have a problem finding one.Just be aware that there are additional surcharges that will be added onto your fare during peakhour, pickups from the airport etc. These surcharges are all listed in the taxi.

MRT (Train)

by Cathy&Gary

The Singapore Mrt (Mass Rapid Transit) is a fast modern air conditioned train service that operates from 5.30am until 12.30am daily.A ride from the city centre to Changi airport takes about 30 minutes. Each ride costs $1.00 to $3.00. You can buy single trip tickets and stored value cards which can also be used on public buses. These are sold at every station.A very efficient and inexpensive way of getting around Singapore.

Taking bus to KL

by buswhiz

I took bus back from Singapore to KL on Vesak day. Initially I tried a few counters like Konsortium and their tickets are all sold out. Luckily I found this website, www.busonlineticket.com, where I managed to buy round ticket from Singapore to KL and KL to Singapore. The best thing is, I do not actually need to go to the counter and buy. I only need to buy from the internet paying with my credit card. The coach that I took was StarMart express, it is a super VIP seats and come with massage chair..

Transportation between Singapore and Malaysia

by whistleshrill

Many tourists like to experience a little of Johor Bahru when they are in Singapore. Here is a little information on the various transportation methods available for the journey aross the border.Firstly, with regards to taking a taxi, I found an information page for you. It has a clear presentation of the pros and cons for this mode of transport:http://taxisingapore.com/singapore-to-malaysia/On the right of the above page, it has a list of taxi companies in Singapore. You can contact them through email or phone to check for their across the border services. Personally, I feel that by choosing to take a taxi, it will save you the hassle of getting off the transport and queueing up at the immigrations. However, charges will be high if you were to meet with a long jam at the immigration as the they run by meter, which is a good thing at times as there is no way that you'll be scammed of...

Transit Hub

by THLIN

With increase more flight form AirAsia, Singapore is now a better place for budget travelers with a few budget carriers. You can start either form the northeast such China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, or north Thailand and Malaysia, east like Philippines, west like India.Hopefully one day JetStar would extend their long-haul service to somewhere far away from current location such as London or Paris. So that more people can travel with less fees paid.

MRT

MRT (mass rapid transports) is definitly the best and cheaper and faster way to go around Singapore. The only pity is that it closes around midnight.Buy a p'repaid card and use it for your various trips around the town, you must charge it at least with 10 singapore dollars which should be enough for a couple of days, depending on how much you go around.

I went with singapohre airlains, (how original!) and I must admitt it is the best company I used untill now, but I found the Singapohre airport even better then the flyght company, really an amazing place to arrive and an amazing beginning of another travel.II trip 10 years later, we arrived from Bangkok with air asia, a low cost company. The airport still looks like the best I have ever been in and this has been the only airport where I had NO QUE, not at check in, not at passports controls, not at hand lagguage control, nothing always only the two of us.
