Metro to Changi

by MJL

I decided to try a metro to my outward journey to Changi airport. As I stay very near a Clarke Quay metro station, I just walk to the station and took North-East line train to Outram Park. There at Outram Park was a short walk to East-West line and one more train change at Tanah Merah Station. A metro station is under terminal three. Take an escalator up and follow signs to an automatic train. Catch a train to your terminal.

Travelling from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur

by judyksp

There is a night train from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur. If I am not mistaken, the train departs Singapore at about 10pm. The last I heard the fare is between S$68 to S$19 (depending on class). There are also many buses that leaves Singapore at night and arrives in Kuala Lumpur the next morning. The last bus time is between 7pm to 10pm (depending on the company). And the cost is between S$19 to S$69 (normal economy bus up to deluxe bus).

Go anywhere with EZLink

by JoeyAD

The most convenient way to travel around Singapore is to use the EZLInk which you can purchase at any MRT Station, cost S$15.00, S$5.00 for a non-refundable cost of the card and S$10.00 load. It can be used at the MRT, buses and for some fastfood purchases. Balance is indicated in the small screen everytime you tap the card at the terminal upon getting out of the MRT station and out of the bus. Under the new card regulation, the card will not work if it has gone below S$3.00. Card can be loaded through the same booth at the MRT station where you bought the card, just mention "top up" and the amount to the teller then you are ready to use it again.

Cable Car at Sentosa

by freddie18

Oh yes, to get into the Sentosa Island, you need to take a cable car which is the aerial link from Mount Faber on the main island of Singapore to the resort of Sentosa across the Keppel Harbour. Shuttle Bus at Sentosa

by freddie18

Yes, you may go around Sentosa Island as long as you want!Bus drivers are friendly, no question about that. This is a convenient way of going around the island. Do a hop-on hop-off. This is literally free. You already paid your entrance fee and shuttle bus fare is already included.

Singapore Trishaw tours

by hopang

Take a trishaw tour when you are having a vacation in Singapore. You are guaranteed lots of fun! This is a three-wheeled bicycle taxi with a rider that takes you wherever you want to go. Most of the trishaw tours have destinations around the Singapore River, Chinatown and Little India. A ride in a trishaw costs approximately S$25.00 per person between 30 and 45 minutes. Trishaws were first introduced into Singapore in 1942. They were common means of transportation in the olden days.

Transit in SIN terminals

by iclee

Agree with most VTers. Several things though:1. Have you tried requesting for early check-in since your flight lands early am? I have tried this with many hotels and they have mostly accomodated my request as long as I book online using my CC. If they still declined, I would appreciate knowing the name of that hotel so I will not make the mistake of booking with them. :)2. If you take a cab when you land, you'll be paying 50% on top of your meter fare as curfew add-on.3. You missed mentioning which Terminal you'll be landing. The Budget one is the worst in terms of waiting area. Least number of food concessionaires that are palatable. Plus a lot of the outlets are closed starting late at night and early morning (including GST counter).

SINGAPORE CABLE CAR

by ancient_traveler

The Singapore Cable Car provides an aerial link from Mount Faber on the main island of Singapore to the resort island of Sentosa across the Keppel Harbour. Although referred to by its operators as a cable car, the listed system is in fact a bi-cable gondola lift and not an aerial tramway. The bi-cable, detachable-grip gondola lift system has three stations, namely The Jewel Box Station at Mount Faber, the HarbourFront Station at HarbourFront and the Sentosa Station at Sentosa. Two supporting towers are located between each pair of stations.

MASS RAPID TRANSIT

by ancient_traveler

The MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) and LRT (Light Rail Transit) are trains that are the main trunk of Singapore's transit system. They are a cheap and very reliable mode of transportation, and the network covers most points of interest for the visitor. EZ-link cards (described above) are the easiest and most popular way to use the MRT. All lines are integrated, so you do not need to buy a new ticket to transfer. The MRT stations are clean and usually equipped with free toilets. Underground stations typically have platform doors between the train and the platform so there is no risk of falling onto the tracks. The North-East line is fully automated, so it's worth walking up to the front of the train to look out a tiny window and realize that there is no driver!
