Watch out for the MRT - if you are leaving Singapore by train from the Malaysian rail terminal in the South of the city, be aware that you cannot take luggage on the metro!! I think the link has now been extended to the airport but you are still not allowed to take luggage on it.

Follow the rules.Flush your toilet, don't smoke, don't eat chewing gum, don't bring drugs or you sign your death penalty.Singapore Rules Drug AbuseAnyone who is convicted of trafficking, manufacturing, importing or exporting more than 15g of heroin, 30g of morphine, 30g of cocaine, 500g of cannabis, 200g of cannabis resin or 1.2kg of opium faces the death penalty. So in other words, drug busts here are usually big. I guess the traffickers don't want to die for a little packet. The last bust was 72kg of pure heroin found in air compressors in a ship on the way to the States. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- LitteringSingapore has strict laws against littering. First offenders are fined S$1,000. Repeat offenderes are fined S$2,000 and given corrective work such a cleaning a public place. A subtopic to this is something called Killer Litter ....

Singapore is a fine City. Chewing gum, smoking, littering, picking up flowers and many similar actions are FORBIDDEN. I was forgetting “ molest” is a big crime in the city for that reason in a public bus, men has to put their hands on the windows. “Interesting” and I recommend you to not to be alone in the elevator with any women. And never use or carry DRUGS. It's strictly forbidden.

Singapore is one of the safest country in the world, so crimes rate is low or even none.Foods and water are safe to eat and drink, but the city is abit polluted by the air from Indonesia. But be aware that, do not address people by their first name unless if you are invited to address them by Mr, Miss or Mrs etc.

Just one. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES TAKE ILLEGAL DRUGS INTO SINGAPORE. CHECK YOUR LUGGAGE FREQUENTLY. DRUG SMUGGLING CAN CARRY THE DEATH PENALTY. Other than that one serious note, Singapore is very safe. Violent crimes and robbery are very rare, Women travelling alone are safe too. ( but don't forget common sense ).

THE SAFEST PLACE ON EARTHIt is said that you can wander around anywhere in Singapore at 3 in the morning and never have to worry about being attacked. Chewing gum is AGAINST THE LAW in Singapore because they don't want to have to deal with the mess. If you're caught trying to smuggle chewing gum into the country in your luggage, it will be confiscated!

by Travel2write

Law The law of Singapore comprises the Constitution, legislation and subsidiary legislation. The Constitution lays down the fundamental principles and basic framework of state organisation and enshrines the fundamental rights of the individual. Statutes or legislation are laws enacted by the Singapore Parliament as well as predecessor institutions that had the power to legislate for Singapore. Subsidiary legislation are minor rules made under the parent statute.Special features of Singapore law: What you can and can't do!!!LitteringThe running joke is that Singapore is a 'fine' city. To maintain the clean and green city, there are strict laws against littering of any kind. First-time offenders face a fine of up to S$1,000. For repeat offenders--it's a fine of up to S$2,000 and a Corrective Work Order (CWO). The CWO requires litterbugs to spend a few hours cleaning a public place, for...

There is one big danger is Singapore and that is the shopping virus. The number of products offered can make you want to spend more than budgeted. Especially the computer and electronic stores offer you the latest gadgets for a low price. Watch out or be sure to bring enough moneyO yes, if you buy an electronic product ask for an international warranty. The price can be a bit higher then but it saves you a lot when there is a problem when you're home.
