Favorite thing: At the bus rest stop on the journey from Jeongeup back to Seoul in October 2007, I came across this interesting "car", most likely for people to take photographs. Very nice decorations and a work of art indeed :)

Beautiful scenery on the way to Jeongeup

Favorite thing: The scenery from Seoul to Jeongeup by express bus (about 3.5 hours) is very beautiful, passing through agricultural land surrounded by green mountains, steep valleys, rivers, towns etc. During the heart of autumn season, many of the trees will be very colourful which will add onto the beauty of the experience. Personally, I enjoyed the scenery of the bus journey, as well as the comfort of the buses. The only problem is that I do not like the seat belts which I find uncomfortable (when you take the express buses around South Korea, each seat has a seat belt and they are quite particular about you putting it on for safety reasons).

Resting stop along Seoul-Jeongeup bus route

Favorite thing: One of my fondest memories of bus journeys around South Korea (including my trip to Jeongeup and Naejangsan National Park) are the rest stops along the journey. These bus rest stops are very clean, neat with huge toilets to cater for many people from many buses. Also, there are lots of food and drink stores there, as well as tourist information counter and benches/seats for you to relax.

The most important thing about the rest stops is make sure you remember the number plate of your bus and where it is parked. Also check how long is the rest break (usually about 15 minutes) or the bus may leave without you.

Jeongeup (sometimes also called Chongup in English) is a relatively small and laid back town located at the southwest Jeollabuk-do province of South Korea. In fact, it is just next to the famous Honam...
