Hwasun Things to Do

Unju-sa is known to once have a 1000 buddha statues and 1000 pagodas. Many of them are still at outdoor display around the temple. There is an associated myth that once the monk ordered if they could make 1000 statues in one night, pains and worries of all the people will be relieved. While they worked on the last statue, one of the workers (who was tired) mislead them by announcing that the night was over. He made sound of a rooster to deceive.
