To reach the island,you need to take a ferry and the journey is around 5 minutes.
Ferry operates as follows;
First ferry departs Gapyeong Wharf at 07:30.
First ferry for Gapyeong Wharf departs Nami Island Wharf at 07:35
Last Ferry
Last ferry departs Gapyeong Wharf at 21:30.
Last ferry departs Nami Island Wharf at 21:35
07:30 to 09:00,ferry runs every 30 minutes.
09:00 to 18:00,ferry runs every 10 to 20 minutes.
18:00 to 21:30,ferry runs every 30 minutes.

Not far away from entrance of the island lies the grave of General Nami and this island was named after him. General Nami died at a young age of 28.General Nami was falsely denounced as a traitor and was executed together with his mother and faithful retainers. It was not until 1818 during the reign of King Sunjo that it was officially revealed that false evidence was used to convict General Nami.
General Nami passed the military service examination at the age of 17 and suppressed a riot led by Lee Shi-Ae in the 13th year of King Sejo' reign of Joseon Dynasty, and then was promoted to 'Byeongjopanseo (Minister of National Defense)' at the age of 27.

There is about a 12 minutes walk from the ferry point to this 2 rows of trees.However during the 12 minutes walk,take your time to enjoy the beauty of the trees too.

I visited this place during Jan 06 and it was freezing cold (around minus 10 degree celcius) Luckily there were firewoods all around the island to keep the visitors warm.
