At sunset the monks ring the temple bell; guests, who have participated actively in the temples daily life are invited, to assist and also to ring the bell. It is not easy, to direct the massive and heavy pole, so as to hit the bell at the right spot.

In the evening, at night and in early morning prayers are held in the main hall of Samhwa temple.
Temple-guests are allowed and animated to join, yet have to follow all (rather complicated) rites, as frequently kneeling down and rise without the help of ones hands, laying down on the floor for a few minutes etc.
Nevertheless it is an unique experience, broadening your mind.
