Ethiopia: Coffee with a view

Ethiopia does not look like much from the outside but as you enter its like walking into a new world. The decor is straight out of africa. Its stunning. Ethiopia doubles as a coffee shop and I think a high class drinking venue. The view over the river is beautiful.

Heukyeomsotangjip: Off the beaten path for some deer stew.

This place really doesn't look like much at all. When I was looking for it I walked right past it. The place looked empty so when I opened the door I was surprised to find 10 Koreans looking back at me. The same ammount of surprise showed on their faces. Even though I found this place in the lonely planet it was nice to know that this was a true cultural experience. The dish to eat is deer stew (Heukyeomsotang).
You get a big pot of stew with many many side dishes. After watching the other customers I was able to work out what to do. Stir the ingrediants in the bowl that has the oil, paste and ground something. Take chunks of meat and vegetables and dip it in the bowl.
To add flavour to the actual stew there are small bowls of red paste(fruity not spicy) and the groung stuff. Add to suit your taste.
So good luck and I hope you enjoy cause its absolutely delicious.

Chung San Dakgalbi: The Local Specialty

Dakgalbi (grilled chicken) is the local specialty of Chuncheon. A mixture of chicken chunks, potato, green vegetables and tapoki (rice cakes) are cooked on a hot plate at your table. The sauce is only a liitle spicy. Nothing like the sauce you normally have with tapoki. You can either eat as is or you can rap them in lettuce leaves. The dipping sauce as always is delicious.
The price including beer was W 11 000.
